I want to try out estrogen without permanent effects (mostly breast growth) to see how it feels and have been looking into options. I want to see how it changes my emotions and, if I'm lucky, my skin, face, hips, hair, and body hair.
It seems like there are a few SERMs out there that can be taken alongside HRT to limit breast growth. Another option is just a very low dose if I'm just 'trying it out' for a few months.
Might make an appointment for a local gender clinic and see what options are available.
Given they're used for treatment of breast cancer, there is still active research in trying to have to anti-breast effects and the bone-density loss. They should still be safe to use for many years if you don't already have bone density issues given puberty blockers are considered safe for years of use and they have a stronger effect on bone density. I think
Some people report some chest growth from raloxifene + estrogen, but I'm not sure how much of that is just reversible fat redistribution vs irreversible breast tissue development. Unfortunately, Lemmyverse is pretty limited in people posting about their experiences with SERMs, so Reddit would be a better place to search. Seems like many have been happy with their results, but not sure how many talk about experience of very long-term usage.
