This has never been even remotely true. Just because a thoroughly babyfied generation of adults can't imagine consuming media for adults doesn't mean that media isn't there. It just means we've normalized grown-ups primarily watching children's movies and reading YA novels
Because most media for adults now is boring, soulless, gritty and depressing bullshit. People get that shit all day at work.
I dislike labeling things as "for adults" and "for kids". It's limiting and takes the magic out of life. Most things "for adults" are immature in a different way that bugs me.
It just comes across as desperately trying too hard to be taken seriously.
Adults finally embracing whimsy is one of the only good things about modern media. That doesn't make them baby brained, it makes them honest.
