The Newport News Education Association President condemned the premise of the school division’s motion to dismiss Abigail Zwerner’s pending $40 million lawsuit.
The motion was filed last week by attorneys representing the School Board and argues that Zwerner, who was shot in her classroom at Richneck Elementary in January by a 6-year-old student, is only entitled to file a worker’s compensation claim because the injury she sustained from the shooting is a “workplace injury,” and that the shooting was a hazard of the job.
:agony-shivering:
Ah yes, the black pilled incel spree shooter clause of the contract.
Hey if a six year old is old enough to work in a meat packing plant they're old enough to exercise their second amendment rights.
The filing from the board’s attorney last week states that it is the “unfortunate reality” that teaching in America is a profession not without its dangers.
"Maybe we should work to make teaching not a dangerous profession?"
"SOrry sweaty, the Senate Parchmentarian says thats illegal akshually"
How dare you question the integrity of our institution of the senate parliamentarian
Try to say that shit outside the safety and security of an American courtroom fucker.
If lawyers had been the targets of mass shootings - we would have had solid gun control laws ~50 years ago. I could go on. But I better not.
Fr if we’re going to have mass shootings stop doing them in fucking schools, go to a health insurance headquarters or a law firm
Graves called on all school staff to attend upcoming board meetings.
I’d love to see a march on the boss with teachers getting rowdy and disrupting the board meeting. I’m guessing the board already knows they need to circle the wagons and a bunch of teachers taking their turns to yell one at a time is going to be an endurable annoyance for them.
China should just post job offers for ESL teachers with ''you don't get shot during your shift'' as a perk
western media would run articles about how this proves all of the Chinese job listings that don't say it involve your execution
The cop when I shoot him in his uniform: (suddenly it's not a workplace injury anymore)
In normal functioning countries, gun violence in schools is so common that teachers expect to be shot when they apply. This is the price of freedom.
