I just stumbled across this, so sorry for such a late response. It's not super ideal. Debian stable runs older versions of software that can sometimes get in the way of a game being able to run. For example, I was incapable of playing Starfield for the longest time due to a crash on startup. Turns out that the issue was caused by some a package that was extremely out of date due to it being on the stable line. Once I moved it over to testing and did a full update of my system, I was able to run the game without issue. That being said, even with just out of the box Debian stable, almost everything works without a hitch. I don't recommend it as your first distro. I would highly recommend using Linux Mint.
