I saw some segment on the news just advertising a movie about the origin of those "Blackberry" phones, and the director had a fucking Ayn Rand quote on his wall. These are the "heroes" of our modern era, don'tcha know?
Geez, these ads for the concession stand are getting out of control...I hope the movie starts soon...:doomer:
If you think capeshit is bad wait until every movie is some brand extended universe.
Refreshing: The Coca-Cola Story part 3.
Back in the day we used to get animated films about product mascots. Figures a cheetos movie would erase my boy Chester Cheeto.
I heard they're making a cheeto's movie folks, staring...DONALD TRUMP. I'll take one writing gig for SNL pls
Without dogshit copyright laws, we could have had Chester Cheeto vs Sonic but they have lightsabers. Would it have still been dogshit? You bet your ass. Would it have been better? Probably.
I remember when they made a Sega Genesis game about the red dot from 7-Up. Actually not a terrible platformer from what I recall.
My theory is that we're incredibly obsessed with nostalgia because of how shitty things are getting and our consumerism has become so ingrained in our national identity that the most relevant lens through which we can view our history is whatever products were most popular in a given moment.
The only recent one of these that seems remotely interesting is the guy who had to play pinball good enough in the middle of a damn courtroom to prove it was skill based and not gambling.
