Even if that twitter streaming thing had gone OK I still can't believe he planned to announce his candidacy audio only. It seems insane from a PR point of view

Lol a chunk of politics-brained people on twitter forgot about the announcement because of the Sony/spiderman 2 thing. He can't even appeal to nerds who watch all of this shit, sad!

I heard that clip of Desantis trying to make small talk at a publicity thing, and he seriously sounded like a conure repeating phrases it had heard. "HI! Howyadoin? Busyhuh? What'syourname? Okay!" All delivered in the same tone of overcompensating for a disinterested condescension . He thinks if he just puts more energy into his normal human mask (which is the mask of a more subtle guy, one never meant to operate at high voltage and high attention like this, but he doesn't understand that so instead he comes off as the serial killer he probably is) then people won't notice his obvious disdain for them.

the serial killer he probably is

I'd bet money that he's house has a "workshop" that he padlocks shut. And it's actually a torture chamber that he calls "Little Gitmo".

I said this a few days ago - Musk has TONS of skeletons in his closer but I bet DeSantis has WEIRDER ones - I'd bet he's personally flayed a few people in secret.

I still don't understand how he became governor. Did he somehow avoid retail politics 100% of time? Unlike a lot of ghouls - he's clearly a ghoul and a creep.

There is something seriously wrong with the guy. It must emanate from him like heat off a radiator running at 100%.

I assume if you're within 100 feet of the guy - the hair the back of your neck and your arms starts to rise like you're near an actual demon.

The same goes double for Rick Scott. Maybe "off-putting" is a complement in Florida.

Not even republicans give a shit about DeSatan, he's going to get eaten alive by Trump and all this spectacle will be a waste of time.

what is this weird obsession people like Musk have with decorum, Desantis is just Trump without the entertainment and the :thicc-trump:

Don't forget that Trump has also, in whatever small way, poked fun at Musk in the past and someone with as provably fragile of an ego as Musk probably sees that as enough of a reason to back a particular candidate.

He isn't a rational actor in the slightest and whatever the most reactionary slight against him is probably the correct analysis of why he does any given thing.

I find it hard to believe that Trump wouldn't govern just as harshly against trans people, Trump just isn't governing right now lol. But it would make sense that Musk would want the guy with the most proven track record, so that is a more likely explanation actually

It's ramped up significantly in the years since he's been out of office, he's keeping up with the times https://archive.is/e2eyP

Fair assessment on his governing ability, if overstating how much the twitter feuding affects it imo

I think this is mostly true but I definitely wouldn't put it past Trump to randomly go as far if not farther than DeSantis has in Florida. Trump more or less spontaneously had Soleimani assassinated, really almost everything that happened in his admin was more or less random because he was way too coked up to focus on any project for more than a week.
