Feminine rage was NOT something they told me was a thing before HRT. But... yeah. The lady that wrote Manhunt put it in a way that i really vibed with, that being a woman is some hazy flux/combination of gentleness and violence and self-mortification.

idk anything about 4chan other than it’s fascist and transphobic so why does it seem like a good amount of trans people post on it

      Self-harm, for the most part.

Contrapoints went over this before: it's a weird paradox of seeking validation and getting addicted to negative validation. Crabs in a bucket mentality is very real, and 4chan both hates trans people as a whole and has a subcommunity of self-hating trans people that want other trans people to also hate themselves for community bonding/hazing purposes. :sadness-abysmal:

4chan is an online society of outcasts. People who don't feel like they fit in anywhere can find a home there, where there will be either some niche community that has a weird culture but is pretty benign (e.g. /an/ or /tg/) or a place where being a toxic asshole is rewarded (/b/ etc.)

Either way being miserable in solidarity with other outcasts is better than being miserably alone, so it attracts all types of people. Some of them happen to be LGBT, and they clamored for a space of their own there, and now they have it.

And for all its toxicity, 4chan radiates a uniquely deranged energy that has given rise to some major aspects of Internet culture. The world would be lesser for its absence in some ways, though it would certainly stand to benefit a lot in others if it shut down.
