First of all, Lilith did nothing wrong

Second, Lilith isn’t even a Christian demon. She’s not even in the Bible, so believing in her should be heretical for a Christian

I always love how Christian demons are treated as eternal embodiments of evil when they're really just local mom-and-pop deities that didn't gel with Jehovah and got slapped with negative PR for centuries.

It's a ton of fun to point out that Baal is actually called god not a demon in the old testament and there are references to other deity's too. The bible clearly states other gods besides jehovah exist.

I'm sure they have some kind of explanation for that. I've seen American fundie types claim that (American Evangelical) Christianity isn't actually a religion, unlike all other religions (and science is also a religion) because it's just the truth

saw a religious libertarian online explain that "Statism" is a religion that liberals follow which explains their devotion to the state

Yeah but this was in the context of dr fauci telling people to mask up during the early stages of covid, so it’s more just crank :brainworms: than that

Yeah Christians argue that it means you shouldn't worship money or something but the context and actual translation just means Jehovah should be your head deity .

Yeah, isn't it not until the book of Isaiah that there's a clear statement of monotheism rather than henotheism? Might be another prophet; I don't know the verse.

Just vibes lmao. Literally nothing matters to these people, it's just vibes and nothing but vibes. There is no moral or logical consistency whatsoever. Christianity has no Lilith and no spirit realm, who cares? You can be a Christian who believes in the bible and the spirit realm, who gives a shit. Just discipline others about the contents of the bible, invoke the names of God and Jesus whenever it's convenient and then believe in all kinds of other bullshit that goes against the bible because you find it fun. Who cares, who gives a shit, you can do what I want but others have to do what you say.

There is no reasoning, no arguing with these people. Conservatives are not only detached from reality, they are in active conflict with it and want to use hierarchical power over others to bend reality into a shape of their choosing.

Can't stress this enough, these people don't believe and say this stuff just because they're stupid, they say it because they don't care about what is "real". They're referencing Christianity to subjugate others, they don't give the slightest shit about what Christianity actually says because rules are for other, lesser people.

Not only is just vibes based, American protstsntism is undeniably lacking any Christian intellectual tradition beyond i feel bad so ergo its a real demon. Or i feel good this must be God..

Mormons believe in a spirit realm, but they're just as likely to make things up as any standard American protestant.

      :sartre-pipe: quote

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

Always baffles me how many protestants are so afraid of demons when the book pretty explicitly states that being a Christians gives you power over them. Literally the point of the story with Legion.

That's one of the big points of the reformation. The protestants were more serious about belief in witches which the Catholics did and still do maintain is nonsense.

Although to be fair if you live in East Anglia or in rural Scotland the belief that the world is run by evil spirits is understandable

The British isles is the name of the island chain anyone from one of the islands in the British isles is British in the same way a Cuban and a Haitian are both Carribean or a German and a Frenchmen are both European

Also the Scottish claiming to not be British now that being British carries with it stigma for colonialism is bulshit as the Scottish were more than happy to be British when being British meant they were enabled to go out and rob the world it's only now the bill has come due that they are protesting not being involved

I actually want to live in this reality. Where demons are real and constantly trying to corrupt people, but they don't do it in a cool way. They don't slaughter a bunch of people like on the cover of a metal album. They don't make the sky rain blood or send flaming skulls to bite your face off. That would be too cool.

No, they put weird obscure symbols on KFC cups and at Travis Scott concerts. Defeating demons by being a conscious consumer.

It's the same problem I have with the ouija board, the real scary part of the product are the sweat shop workers who work 16 hour days to pump these out for dipshit first worlders who think a spirit is haunting their mcmansion.
