MORE THAN A HUNDRED YEARS AGO!

THEY LITERALLY MADE A DOOMSDAY CLOCK.

    THEY'VE MARCHED AND PROTESTED.

HOW MUCH LOUDER CAN THEY BE?

IT'S NOT THE SCIENTIST'S JOB TO GIVE YOU BASIC LISTENING SKILLS

SCIENTISTS ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM, IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT YOU WERE NEVER TAUGHT HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF VERY BASIC RESEARCH.

THE CAPITALIST-RUN SYSTEM MUDDIED THE WATERS AND SILENCED SCIENTISTS AT EVERY TURN. THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO MAKE THE PEOPLE SCIENTIFICALLY ILLITERATE.

I do blame the scientists for not taking matters in to their own hands, diverting research funds, and secretly building a gundam. They could has burned Exxon HQ to molten slag if they'd just had a forward thinking mindset.

The Vice President of the USA made a goddamn documentary about it 20 years ago and what happened?

He lost an election to the son of an oil tycoon and then the US invaded a Middle Eastern country in order to undercut OPEC.

His opponents attacked him for flying private jets and living in a mansion, as if hypocritical lifestyle choices invalidated his evidence based warnings. And it worked so well he became a punchline for a generation.

“This shit’s gonna suck real hard, man. Cities underwater. Massive famines. Wars over water.”

    “Sounds like bullshit. Prove it.”

“Okay here’s a bunch of proof.”

“What are these graphs and shit? Your communication is terrible.”

Someone set himself on fire in front of the Supreme Court in order to protest the government nonaction on climate change and it barely made news because no one in the media/politics cared. Sure, all the big papers/online media wrote a story on it in like page 47 and that was it.

"Scientists failed for decades to communicate it" sure is a funny way of saying "capitalists and the oil industry denied it for decades and spent billions pumping out propaganda lying about it"

It's never eco-porky 's fault. If porky-happy makes a mistake it's because you didn't give the disruptive innovator a good enough pitch. morshupls

"Who is going to buy the houses? Fucking Aquaman?!" Is one of the better lines of the 21st century.

Its the John Oliver sketch where you've got one crank on the left side of the frame calmly explaining why carbon dioxide isn't real and a thousand dudes in lab coats on the other side screaming and waving graphs, while the moderator just shrugs and insists both sides have equally valid points.

When you add up all the crank science and stack it alongside the serious science, we just don't have a clear picture of what Climate Change is gonna do to us. So, really, the problem is that scientists failed us. We did everything we could with the information available. Our hands are clean.
