There are dozens of miles of tunnels beneath las vegas referred to as the "homeless tunnels."

Literally an undercity of people enslaved and tortured and preyed upon by the lovecraftian horror that is capital, all so this thing can exist looming above the city like a monument to some eldritch god, a spherical obolisk that almost defies perception.

It's a big ball of LED monitors. They paid 2.3 billion dollars for it. How are we feeling about adventurisms today?

Vegas is the biggest land of contradictions. Leave the strip and it's a pretty bleak sight.

I remember watching that documentary on the homeless tunnels and seeing the former porn star down there talking about how the hardships aren't easy but people have a stronger sense of camaraderie than they do above ground.

This is probably the most insane fucking comment a foreigner could possibly read about America but I didn't even flinch. This is a fantasy they write about North Korea made manifest agony-limitless

Yup. A gigantic 2.3 billion dollar ball of light pollution with a 20,000 seat music arena inside. Capitalist Enervation.

I love "you must be fun at parties" because it's completely defanged by just saying, "yup, I sure am." Because at that point "nuh-uh, you're boring and lame and nobody likes you" is just such a weak response. I've seen that shit turn the tide on the reddit voting hivemind all at once lol

I am very fun at parties, the last one I was at I started a very stimulating conversation about scientific socialism that lasted for hours even when I went to buy smokes and came back 15 minutes later people were carrying on.

I hate gimmick architecture! I hate gimmick architecture! I hate gimmick architecture!

Build some God damn walls. Put on a roof like God intended. Use materials and methods of construction that are in harmony with the surroundings environment. Let form follow function you sick architect wankers.

A dumbass spaceship made of gamer lights is not architecture, it's cringe.

The eye of a dead god lies embedded in the concrete. Staring towards a cosmos drowned out by its blinding emanations.

I'm not going to go all nerd on you all now but I could definitely stretch the definition of obolisk to fit this monstrosity.

I was simply trying to use flowery language and not be redundant.

Guess what band will be first to play there when it opens.

    U2!

    Sphere at The Venetian Resort

The Sphere at The Venetian Resort is a spherical music and entertainment arena in Paradise, Nevada, near the Las Vegas Strip and east of the Venetian resort. The project was announced by the Madison Square Garden Company in 2018, and construction was underway the following year. The 18,600-seat auditorium was initially scheduled to open in 2021, but construction was suspended in April 2020 due to a disruption in the project's supply chain, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction resumed later that year. The Sphere is set to open on September 29, 2023, with U2 kicking off their U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency.
