The system of ocean currents that regulates the climate for a swath of the planet could collapse sooner than expected, a new analysis found.

Money quote...

They then used the mathematical properties of a tipping-point-like system to extrapolate from these trends. That led them to predict that the Atlantic circulation could collapse around midcentury, though it could potentially occur as soon as 2025 and as late as 2095.

Still fully shoving my head into a barrel full of copium labeled "maybe China can fix it" and otherwise not letting this shit destroy me psychologically

They will simply do a climate revolution and do a struggle session with the greenhouse gases, it will be fine

The ongoing War against China is holding the world hostage. The ghouls running Western Civilization KNOW that we're in endgame, but they can't resist trying to prevent China from developing. If the clock is running on fossil fuels, every nation should be trying to spend the last allowance on projects for the populace general welfare. That means Public transportation, public housing, etc. Which China is doing while the 5 eye countries pump money into their militaries...

Can't believe the Gulf Stream is collapsing just to make me personally feel more at home as I'm moving from Canada to Europe, so kind!

Everything is "faster than expected". But this year, and the El Nino in the pipeline mean that we'll be seeing some vicious side effects from this year THROUGH 2025.

At the top of the hour - I turned on MSNBC to see if they'd at least say "Later in the broadcast we will cover climate change and developments in the Atlantic Ocean..." They didn't even do that. It was just Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump until I stopped watching which was at ~1:08.

At least in the Onion they'd have something like this...

"There are troubling developments involving climate change and Atlantic Ocean. The world as we know it could start to end. If it does - horrific numbers of animals and creatures will die, climate chaos will begin, flooding, droughts, wildfires and the like will become severe and terrible. Eventually there will be wars over such necessities as food and water. The beginning of the end could start as late as 2095 or as early as 2025. Which of course is just two short years from now. Mike, the weatherman - what do you have to say?"

"I dunno. I'm just a meteorologist not a climatologist. But it's really hot out there right now. A scorcher. Drink water. Stay in the shade if you can. Know the signs of heat exhaust—"

"Sorry, Mike. Time's up. We're gonna talk about Trump and 2024 for the rest of the broadcast!"

I mean it's a 95% confidence interval, which was one of their big additions to the literature; as opposed to previous research saying "it'll be after the 21st century", they came up with an interval estimate of between 2025-2095 with 95% confidence. The actually technical phrasing of a confidence interval is way more obnoxious.

I wonder what happens when one of these heat domes literally boils the ocean.
