Yeah, I mean I was a middle schooler when Gamergate started and I never went harassing people because of it, but I definitely was caught up in Gamergate when it was first going down. It's one of the reasons I'll always love Hbomberguy, because watching his videos was how I ended the youtube algorithm death slide that was Gamergate.
Algorithm death slide is a good phrase, mine ended on the third hour-long unstructured Sargon rant with me going "god this guy is whiny, I'm sick of his voice"
Also, I suspect that there is more than one Hexbearian that was a gamergater back in the day.
