There were almost 700 thousand slaves in the US in 1790, which equated to approximately 18 percent of the total population, or roughly one in every six people.

I really wish Brianna Wu would do something productive with her life like donate her organs.

It's interesting how the proportion of the US Black population has remained remarkably stable.

Formerly known as GamerGate target with political aspirations, currently about halfway through a "this is why I left the left" grift

I literally don't understand her argument. What does that 20% figure have to do with anything? puzzled

Or does she think apartheid is synonymous with ethnostate?

israel is also an ethnostate. ethnostates are based on and completely dominated by one ethnic group, even if ethnic diversity exists. israel defines itself exclusionarily as a "jewish nation-state" of the "jewish homeland"

Not even ethnostate. She seems to think apartheid is the same as a minority population existing.

Ian-Miles Cheong and Cadence Owens were both anti-gamergate.

Also, I suspect that there is more than one Hexbearian that was a gamergater back in the day.

I was actually aware that all games journalism is garbage at the age of like 10 because a child can be capable of internalizing that people taking money are going to be extremely charitable reviewing the people giving them money

Turns out when you are fighting over meaningless culture war vidya game bullshit it’s very easy to swap sides since there are no material stakes

I was really big into Gamergate for about 45 minutes. Then I looked it up, and it turned out it was just some dude being super pissed off that his ex did The Sex after they broke up.

Yeah, all the "ethics in game journalism" stuff was just code for "we want to make video gaming more sexist."

As a bit, Anita Sarkeesian should run on free speech and call herself “Cancel culture’s first victim.”

…because she is. And she has done more for free speech than any CHUD ever will.

Yeah, I mean I was a middle schooler when Gamergate started and I never went harassing people because of it, but I definitely was caught up in Gamergate when it was first going down. It's one of the reasons I'll always love Hbomberguy, because watching his videos was how I ended the youtube algorithm death slide that was Gamergate.

Bringing Algeria into this is fucked up, because we had Apartheid enforced on Algerian Muslims by the Fr*nch colonizers (Le régime de l'indigénat).

I'm really struggling to understand wtf she even thought her point was. since when does apartheid have anything to do with demographic proportions? how would any country that isn't an ethnostate possibly achieve 20% jews? what? jews are 0.2% of the population according to a quick google search. shouldn't they be 0.2% of the population of your country, more or less?

Part of why I hate social media is because it elevates people with no special talent or appeal into "public figures".

Who is Brianna Wu? I had never heard of her my entire life until a month or two ago when somebody posted about her on this site. All I know about her is she was harassed by gamer-gaters back in the early 2010s, and that she now has strong political opinions that seem largely based on who she dislikes on twitter.
