Xi personally switched the tags to show made in vietnam right before the pic was taken then he personally shot the prison laborer, what a dastardly fellow.
Vietnam province, China. This message brought to you by Gaozu gang. 😎
spoiler
This is a joke. I don't even know anything about Emperor Gaozu.
It hurts so much to read Lemmy posts dude
"Wait, why aren't these commies as hopelessly propagandized as me? What's wrong with them?"
Yeah, honestly the most stand-out part of the thread to me was people directionlessly freaking out about the presence of those dang tankies
It's extremely funny that their ultimate boogie man is at most 10-20k extremely online posters. Like what do they think we're gonna do? Do they understand at all how absolutely dominant their cultural hegemony is? Did they all swallow the Bernie Bro discourse but it got lodged in their throat sideways? Everyone's screaming their heads off about tankies, but y?
My dumb ass thought dot ML stood for Marxist Leninist. Turns out it's just the top level domain for Mali and they're a bunch of libs.
Lemmy.ml is run by the devs of lemmy, who are communists. But they let libs infest that main instance in the name of growth
Girth is embracing left unity and a broad United front against capitalism. Length is getting more members. You can see that while length appeals at a superficial level it is actually girth that is more satisfying
Depth. Tragically, libs are wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle.
The mods have been taking an ever-increasingly "hands off" approach that I don't quite understand. My most optimistic view is that lemmy is meant as a recruiting ground and lemmygrad (and the better anarchist instances, to say nothing of us) are meant to be the "for actual socialists to talk to each other" spaces.
Oh wait, I actually mistook this for being on lemmygrad rather than lemmy
My bad
is there even any good anarchist instances? both solarpunk and dbzero are rabid online anarchist instances who spend at least half the time complaining about tankies
I'm not an anarchist and I'm not really interested in anarchism besides sort of an idle interest in Kropotkin, so idk. I am mostly just operating on the assumption that, with the huge number of instances, at least one of them needs to be alright.
i'm not going in there but here's some links that may be of use to people who do:

What a lovely place full of great good awesome posters I can't wait to federate with
Okay, cool. Looks like the list has been trimmed. Glad to see that we won't have to deal with lemmy.world, and glad that these buffoons aren't on the list either. I thought they were for some reason.
I've yet to use the block feature to block anyone but that's probably going to change soon.
As long as you don't press 'all', you'll only be able to see hexbear. I mostly use 'local' on lemmygrad, and I barely ever see libs aside from high-upvote superposts or anything involving China.
There's plenty of good worthwhile China struggle sessions to be had. Based purely on the title this seems to be one of the more cartoonish and unnecessary.
I think that's fair, but there's use as well to be had in attacking easy targets because it helps someone understand what a rag journals like the BBC are.
Okay so reading the article, the accusation is that China is reaching out to overseas families of Uyghurs and offering them money and front businesses in exchange for becoming spies against human rights agencies. The alchemy that goes into the headline is weak and abrupt. They don't even go as far as saying the official implied a threat to the family, just that this guy they interviewed inferred it.
I'm probably further towards the "China bad" spectrum over the Uyghur situation than most people on here and I just don't see why anyone should be especially upset or surprised by this even granting the factual claims in the article are all 100% true.
Speaking of the BBC, apparently some Mastodon instances have been having struggle sessions over defederating with the BBC. Like there was this one trans person being like 'yeah the BBC is a little transphobic sometimes but how dare you cut me of from my noooz' lmao
The only Big China struggle session I want to see is whether Big China should be stretched horizontally until it reaches the west coast of Europe or stretched vertically so it stretches from pole to pole
To be fair, I'm sure they struggle alot with deciding wether to call anyone who disagrees with them russian bots or chinese bots
GarbageShoot I just wanna say I really appreciate what you do over there
Aw, I appreciate it
I'm not very active on Lemmy, there's just been a couple posts over the last few months that I felt compelled to engage with. There are other hexbears like Awoo who are way more active outside this site agitating, to say nothing of that Yuri Gagarin fan who basically has the output of an entire instance on his own.
Nice try but you're not getting me to dive into a 2 day old 250 comment thread!
