I'm not an expert in psychology, but straight up denying reality has to be a worse strategy than just admitting Biden is senile.

I don't think they have anything else. It doesn't seem like there's a party organization that can force Biden out or push him down the stairs. If he doesn't give up willingly they can't touch him. The reporting makes it sound like his family is running him like a puppet and he has no ties to whatever the democratic part is at this point.

      straight up denying reality

A staple of today's imperial foreign policy, especially with regards to the ukraine war

Also imperial domestic policy, especially regarding diseases like covid or bird flu

They're either in denial or saying it's perfectly okay because there are good people around him/Biden just needs to sign shit.

Cause it's perfectly fine to have another dementia president.

Why do they tell us Trump is an existential threat, then turn right around and say the only thing to do is participate in the ballots as if nothing unusual was happening?

    • CyborgMarx [any, any]

They don't really believe Trump is an existential threat, they're just infinitely annoyed by his cultural presentation and lack of class

They're infuriated by the second hand embrassment they feel when they see him on the global stage and by how annoying he's made members of their own family

Alot of this is just inter-family suburban squabbles being directed outward

"Before Trump my aunt Martha was a decent respectable republican who believed 95% of everything I believed, then Trump came along and now she's an annoying dingbat who ruins all our brunches with her crass politics"

Joe Biden was president with his party in control of Congress and could have protected abortion in law and chose not to. The reasoning of anyone bought this far into liberal democracy doesn't treat the Joe bidens as real humans, they treat them like gods.

He was allowed to stuff the courts, dems were allowed to ignore the parliamentarian, all that stuff.

They don't want to, the way things are right now is how they want it to be. It's not like I have to say this on hexbear, but dems are the enemies of the American working class just as much as GOP is. They must be destroyed - not funny haha minecraft destroyed 😒 like as a viable "mass" organization.

These are the same people that openly and proudly live their lives pretending Biden is not directly responsible for the most live-streamed genocide in history. Biden could shoot a Palestinian child on live television and they'd find a way to scold people for using it as justification not to vote for him. ("Yeah well Trump would have made him bleed out! Biden made it quick and painless!")

Pretending Biden is not suffering from advanced dementia while he shits himself during a debate must be like easy mode for their reality bending.

Remember libs used to say Trump could shoot someone on live TV and MAGA would still vote for him.

They've gone into full defense mode, they're just trying to hold the line and cope. And Biden was down even before the debate. Absolutely no chance the gaslighting will work on anyone who's not already a solid Biden vote, and that's just not enough to win.

They're also planning on speedrunning the online convention in a couple weeks from the sounds of it - or else, oh no, Biden not appear in Ohio ballots which would DEFINITELY be the only reason he doesn't win fucking Ohio 🙄

He's been raspy like that for years now

I don't remember when it started, he didn't seem to have that before getting elected, but at some point he just started coughing all the time and sounds like he does have a cold (but it can't be a cold for years)

Anyway, the cold stuff is just pure cope from the libs. They only "coincidentally" released from the WH that he had a cold after seeing grandpa Joe up there slack-jawed, raspy, talking about sisters raping immigrants or whatever the fuck

He didn't try to overthrow the country, he didn't organize Jan 6th, his fans did, Roe V Wade was still a thing under Trump and any politician who wouldn't want to replace the entire federal workforce with people loyal to them isn't playing the game right.

The whole thing with desperately trying to pretend that the Jan 6 glorified self-guided tour of the Capitol was anything even remotely resembling a “coup attempt” has to be one of the most successful Blue MAGA gaslighting projects yet

      • GalaxyBrain [they/them]
        ·

Had the convenient effect of memory holing the Geoege Floyd protests as well. Somehow the contrast in police response has also been totally erased from the conversation. The fact they even got near the Capitol building let alone were allowed to roam freely inside shows exactly where the people legally allowed to kill stand, and somehow this is erased as an attempted and very serious coup against the democratic party. If they were allowed to storm the building without being shot, then if it's a coup against the democratic party, it only failed because their goals had already been accomplished prior to their actions

And they didn't do anything about it. No one was dragged from their homes and shot, there were no show trials followed quickly by hangings. They imprisoned a few proles and cracked down on political rights and that's it.
