“Look, I know the CIA ended up being full of shit the last 312 times they drummed rationales for invading another country unprovoked, but Drumpf made them feel bad so now anything saying they might be wrong is fake news.”

Some libs. I supported the Libya """""Intervention""""" when I was a lib and it was definitely a fell for it situation. Not that I wasnt responsible for my own ignorance.

      The eternal liberal cycle:

Step 1 - "Phew, wow, that war we were just in ended. I think we still had good reasons to intervene.

Step 2 (5 years later) - "Hmm, you know, I've read more and more analysis of some of the bad things we/our allies did and I'm not so sure, this might be more complicated than I thought."

Step 3 (10 years later) - "Wow, this war was actually really nuanced and we might have even been in the wrong to intervene here. I've learned my lesson, I will be more critical of the next time we try and go to war! Fuck these forever-wars, what a waste of taxpayer money!"

Step 4 (just before next war) - "Holy shit, this country here is BAD. This is nothing like the last time, all the media is telling me about all these awful crimes this country has committed. We might need to once again step up and be the world's policeman. THIS time it'll be different and we'll be the good guys, because of XYZ reason."

Step 5 (war starts) - "BURN THAT COUNTRY TO THE GROUND. KILL THEM ALL. NONE ARE INNOCENT. ALL MUST DIE. BLOOD. BLOOD. BLOOD. I DEMAND THE BLOOD OF A HUNDRED MILLION RUSSIANS/IRANIANS/CHINESE/LIBYANS/ETC."

Back to step 1, repeat until the liberal is dead or becomes so withdrawn from politics that they no longer care. What's important is that the liberal never experiences any discomfort or the thought of protesting let alone rebelling against the war while it's actually ongoing. It's always something that happens in retrospective that allows them to feel better about being a shitty person because "Now I'm better and more worldly and understanding! Of course it was a bad idea to invade Iraq! Of course it was a bad idea to invade Vietnam!" without actually ever improving or becoming more resistant to US state media narratives in future wars.

It's happened for the last century and it will keep on happening until the collapse of the empire. I'm sure many of us know grandparents or parents that are still weirdly racist against Koreans or Vietnamese or Japanese or Arabs long after these wars ended and it's like "Man, I'm glad we're so enlightened today and we're not racists like them, why would you hate a country's citizens like that?" and it's like, my brother in christ, you will be that person but for Russian and Chinese people when you're in your retirement home when your kids visit.

Yes, war is bad. No, the US shouldn’t have intervened in [Enemy Country]. butt, this time the other side is just as bad (or worse) which justifies these actions, ‘mkay?

Semi-related: one of the funniest internet interactions I've seen recently is some ex(?) troop claiming that Koreans should be thankful to African American soldiers for teaching them how to fry chicken.

It immediately triggered a free for all struggle session between Diaspora Koreans, Kpop stans, Hoteps, and libs. Magical.

It's fucking hilarious to me that you said this as a ridiculous jest but the only difference between American liberalism and the current Russian state is that Russia is on its face "more corrupt". Like wow holy shit, Putin has effectively more visibly direct authority over Russia than a single U.S. President has over the United States, that makes them so radically different holy moly. It doesn't matter that their societies are both the result of capitalist oligarchy privatizing almost anything it can get away with, all that matters is that Putin is a big meanie-bo-beanie and U.S. Democrat presidents aren't as openly nefarious

Basically what I'm saying is yes

      Darn liberals invaded Ukraine.

Okay holy shit y'all look at this motherfucker's actual posting history. I could not design a better liberal parody bit account if I fucking tried. So much masterbatory enlightened centrism. Can we like, make an annoying lib hall of fame? I want to frame their history and put it on my fridge. I'm that impressed by their ability to repeat lukewarm mainstream takes with an air of superiority.

Life is so much simpler when I let the propaganda simply flow from my ears to my mouth. Why did I ever bother having independent thoughts before? This is the life. blob-no-thoughts it's just so comfy knowing my country is inherently doing the right thing and I'll never need to exert any meaningful political power or decision making in my life.

I don't know if you count it as an invasion, but giving the Ukrainian Armed Forces the child-murder rounds that stay active in the ground for decades is surely not a position of moral superiority? And liberals are just as guilty as Putin for this war by engaging in NATO expansionist brinkmanship in Ukraine.

Yes, many of the Russian armed forces are liberals too, and serve in accordance with liberalism.

There's a lot of liberal infighting there. It's not exactly new.

Are you suggesting that this war has not made liberals more insane and bloodthirsty than we've ever seen in a previous modern war?
