I hate mtf and ftm (not a rant)

I always want to put f first because I'm a girl boohoo literally every time I have to retype it.

That's very fair, I hope I don't irk you if I use it. Maybe I should just try and phase it out all together.

If you feel that it captures your experience as a trans person, that's up to you. Just don't use it on other trans people ever, it basically says "you used to be a dude" and many of us find that offensive af and totally inaccurate, not to mention that nonbinary experiences have zero room in these labels as well.

I think most of the time I use it/consider using it its to describe hrt. I guess I have seen people use feminizing/masculinizing hrt but cheems I don't know. Probably better to banish it from my vocabulary altogether. Its just very convenient (I know this is an awful reason).

And yes I understand why you would find it offensive and inaccurate.

The thing is, it's not accurate for HRT, either. My estradiol gel is primarily used for menopausal cis women. Testosterone HRT is usually used by cis men. My blockers are mostly used to treat really bad cases of acne or as a treatment for prostate cancer. Gender affirming care isn't restricted to trans people, that's actually a total off-label use that isn't even mentioned on most packagings or entries in pharmacological libraries. And even if you want to describe a transition process, feminizing or masculinizing HRT achieves just that without centering the AGAB first.

For real it’s actually really frustrating how much hrt for trans people is put in a seperate category from hrt for cis people

I find it doesn't reflect me. Others can use what they want. Agab and some other terms can be problematic with how some have centered them and how they've been applied

You don't have to use them btw. As someone else already mentioned, some people don't like them because it implies that they were the other gender before which doesn't match how they retroactively perceive their internal mental state
