My partner is a lib too, but she would never do THIS.

If lib partners aren't flipped because of BLM, covid, economic depression, climate collapse, indigenous oppression, mass immigration/exodus, israel, yemen, amazon, billionaires, boogaloo boys, etc then either you're not doing your job right to use context to guide/encourage them to better views or there's a deeper incompatibility and politics is just stirring it up

my partner went from "ACAB is kinda extreme" to saying it herself in one year :sankara-salute:

I also got her to stop reading mainstream news after making her watch the debates with me and she saw for herself how much they spin any threat to capitalism

Ditto. Wife got an ACAB t shirt to were to protests.

Ginsburg's death had her shook, and now she can't stand the Dems anymore, because they're so feckless.

        It's been a journey.

My partner too, now she explains to other people that it's not about "each individual cop being bad" so much as "the system that police operate under does not prevent them from being bad"

The only way the guy would be able to save his marriage is if he just say her "look, I'm actually a republican, and you are not being civil nor bipartisan", presto.

The lib will blame the leftist, withhold sex as a weapon, the intimacy will crumble, he will meet a cute marxist catgirl at the DSA meeting, he will slide into her DM's and then only see his kid named Kayden every other weekend until they turn 18 and move to the city.

"His views seem detached from reality... he must have seen a Minions meme on FB from the Russians"

Shit is real real bad right now, but part of me is basking in the glow of lib tears as they realize that everything they believed is a lie. They can't explain away Dem leadership's fecklessness with Russian agitprop. They can't triangulate between the left and people on the right that want to kill them.

But I'm sure this moment of cognitive dissonance will pass and libs will just forget it, just like they forget 2000 Bush vs Gore, the wars, and 2016.
