So there is a hardline being 18 But most people take it too literal and are like what moral difference does it make if I fuck a 17. 5Yr old and an 18 Yr old
But that misses the point If you are old enough where fucking a 17 Yr old is weird then fucking an 18 Yr old is really fucking weird too
The legal line had to be drawn somewhere but a 28 Yr old should be nowhere near college kids except maybe seniors or sth
It should only be legal to have sex with people older than you.
There has to be a lower bound, but above that it's just a number and case-by-case to me. I've known 56 year olds more immature than some 18 year olds.
I'm about 30, I've been in relations with 3, 13, and 31 year age gaps, myself always being the younger party. Being on the other side of all those I personally don't think I can generalize any other rules for other couples. Just some minimum for protecting vulnerable people.
100% agree. Honestly I couldn’t imagine sleeping with an 18 year old when I was 22 and graduating college. I certainly couldn’t imagine it now. I don’t even really want to be around 18 year olds for an extended period of time.
what moral difference does it make if I fuck a 17. 5Yr old and an 18 Yr old
If you're like 19-20 and it's because you've been dating since high school then nobody gives a shit, there's literally even legal exceptions for this
But yeah if you're old enough that 17.5 is weird then so is 18, fuck off and go meet people your own age
Age of consent isn't a sharp line. A lot of places have (very complex) Romeo and Juliet laws that provide exceptions.
I knew a 35 year old who dated and married a 23 year old. He’s autistic with adhd and physically looks younger than her so nobody really finds anything wrong with it.
The autism and adhd make him seem mentally younger as well with his childlike personality and maturity levels being lower for his age.
Of course, Guatemala is an entirely different world and age gaps relationships are pretty common and not as widely frowned upon as they are in the US. There’s definitely men who use it for the power dynamics and it’s part of the class divide with it being more common among poorer communities than the wealthier ones.
Codify the 1/2 age + 7 guideline into a Romeo and Juliet law if any minors are involved, and leave two adults to their own business.
14 can bang 14. 16 can bang 15. 18 can bang 16. 20 can bang 17.
On one side, for whatever reason, you'll have people debating the semantics of the age of consent rule.
On the other side, you'll have people defending the spirit behind an age of consent rule.
So... its probably just two people talking past each other for most of the conversation.
