I mean if someone was interested in keeping a group chat running I'd be down with asking the admins to set it up on their matrix, but I'm busy with IRL stuff to mod that too
I'm active a lot on Matrix myself I wouldn't mind if other comrades would want that, would be awesome! Perhaps could set up bridges too

That's good, Discord is a horrible platform and other lists I can't find right now

I quit Discord in 2021 and haven't looked back and I'm glad, I see many people now have their whole social circle locked in it

Yeah I mostly just used it with my wife and don't have any friends.. I'm not on social media and well I've no family.. I mostly just use discord for keeping up with mods lol
But we've moved over to matrix
I've used XMPP for a long while before moving onto self hosted Matrix to have a wider reach with people

Yeah trying to find decent spaces has been the issue and the clients are a little basic but glad for it.
Aside from Element (Try Element X on Android), I recommend Cinny. If you want CLI, go for iamb.chat which is updated, or gomuks.
I liked Conversations for XMPP more to be honest, lighter and generally better, oh well
Yeah there's a few but I wasn't sure which was the best lol do any allow you to use different instances in the one client?
