I'm just tired of comic book movies, everyone of them has the same plot, It's all about "the individual", all problems can be solved by the protagonist by beating someone up. For some reason I never encounter problems like this in my own life, getting into fights just seem to have negative consequences for most people. Anyway if you want to waste 10 bucks on watching some one beat up the villain of the day (I haven't watch these trailers do they shit on russian or chinese people? or are we still hating on muslims?) while espousing the virtues of freedom, democracy and capitalism then knock yourself out.
don't forget the people trying to change things are always evil and the protagonists always fight for keeping status quo
oh, and of course you are never allowed to kill the bad guys even if they're literally hitler, you're just supposed to only use non-violence until they accidentally kill themselves and the problem goes away by itself
consumption is the entirety of how you express yourself, and if you don't consume this you're a bad person.
Whoa, movies starring an entitled transphobe and an Islamophobe! Yas queen, et cetera!
gal gadot (wonder woman) is a zionist who was in the IDF. Scarlett Johanessen is a garbage human all around but has had some especially bad takes defending her choices to play trans and nonwhite characters, and also defends woody allen (a pedo) unprompted sometimes
So that you can learn to love the value Disney provides, you'll be picked up for admission to your local re-education center shortly.
Please get ready for transport.Mr. Mouse would be ready to make a deal, if you would commit to watching Zootopia by Sunday evening and on the additional condition that you refrain from further shows of non-excitement over Disney products.
if you do not respond well to zootopia there will be dire consequences. your eyes will be taped open and you will be forced to watch sissification fetish videos of the bunny cop.
I haven't been excited for a movie since sorry to bother you.
"Sorry to bother you" and "parasite" were great, though the liberal elite took the wrong lesson from parasite.
I don't know, I feel like reading anything good from that movie is giving it too much credit. 99% of the population will walk away from the movie with the idea that poor people are all heartless cockroaches who will kill you for literally no reason whatsoever so don't feel bad about living in a gated community. Maybe the author meant to say something else, but then he just failed spectacularly. Rich family in parasite are just objectively better people than the poor family and that's the only thing most people will get out of it.
Bong certainly meant to say something else. He has been publicly critical of capitalism. I don’t think he failed tbh, but I did watch the film with preexisting left wing views. I’m not sure you are right about the 99%, most of my lib friends sympathized with the kims over the parks
Well, yeah, the poor family is sympathetic because they're point of view characters and they face various hardships throughout the movie. But it doesn't change the fact that they are literally the bad guys in the story. Poors are the ones (and only ones) who do all the lying, scheming, stealing, and killing.
It's like watching the Reservoir Dogs. Sure, you sympathize with the characters but they're still the villains.
Poor people are poor because they are lazy or steal from & kill each other
Absolutely. I remember walking out of the theater feeling high. Highly recommend it, kind of a must see if you're a leftist.
This is the first time I’ve heard of either of those movies
The tweet's wrong, the only Women Superheroes(tm) movie that exists is Birds of Prey
I just want to clarify that I mean this unironically, Birds of Prey is good folks
That's fine, it's okay to not like things.
I love it, it's got decent politics (and is at least explicitly anti-cop, with Harley busting up a police station and calling them piggies, one of the only building numbers shown is 1312 , the cop character's arc being about how the force protects criminals and leading up to her quitting, etc), embraces the idea that Women Hot without being creepy about it (as opposed to the male gaze directorial work I'm used to needing to put up with especially in superhero movies), and it doesn't take itself too seriously.
It's a lot of fun imo, though I could see how the non-linear storytelling and its more heavily character-driven narrative could be a turn off for some people
Not great. But it was better than Suicide Squad. A lot more focus on Harley and a kind of weaving narrative type story. Ewan McGregor as Black Mask is excellent, though
someone told me that kate mckinnon used to date bari weiss and that ruined ghostbusters for me :(
Kate McKinnon is a horrible person IRL as well. I know writers who worked with her and she counted how many words she had in SNL skits and threw a tantrum if she didn't have the most. She also would demand more update characters and frequently said things like "people only watch this show for me " during rehearsals. This is how she ended up doing the Hillary "Hallelujah" opening and why she played RBG so often. Her jealousy is also why Lorne started using older outside performers like Alec Baldwin for weekly roles because she didn't complain about them.
She would also undermine other less confident performers by pulling a face whenever anyone else spoke to try and steal all the attention she could in the scene. I'm always surprised more people didn't pick up on her doing that.
By all accounts she was intensely disliked (idk if she's still there) by everyone except Lorne.
have not seen a super hero movie since the second avengers but it seems it is because i hate women and not because i dislike the formulaic type of movie
Counterpoint: I'm keen on Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume o Minai because I support strong female leads.
