Worth listening to his BBC6 shows, he has great taste in funk and punk.

We rewatched all of robot wars during lockdown. It was so good. Until the Dara O'Brien reboot.

Diotoir eventually got a spinner if I remember correctly and did really well in one season.

I remember when panic attack won. The most outclassed robot ever. My Welsh dad fucking loved it.

In Spain it was called "Humol Amarillo" ("Yellow Humor", only misspelled to imply a 'Japanese' accent) 💀💀💀💀

Just used to watch the US dubs.

Japanese game shows really are something else. Takeshi’s castle, the game where they bite things to see if they’re food or real… shits wild.

To be fair the game where they bite stuff to see if its food is really good fun. We should have shows like that under socialism

There was a time period where Takeshi's Castle and the original Japanese Ninja Warrior were a constant fixture on Finnish TV. They also started showing women's Ninja Warrior and all I remember is the same lady winning the contest like 5 times in a row

OG Ninja Warrior/Sasuke was so good! Always liked the early rounds as a kid, where you'd get all the kinda silly competitors like Mr. Octopus

The funniest part of those paper door ones is you can see all the scuff marks from the people who slammed into the wooden doors beforehand, the paper door is immaculate because nobody went through it yet. It's so easy to see which is the correct one and yet they still slam themselves into the solid doors over and over.

Good news! It didn’t just exist in the past tense, it’s actually got a new season! It is on Amazon, so hoist that flag if you need, but it’s actually great. Getting to watch the eps in order cuts down on some of the insanity, but there’s still plenty of off the wall wackiness to be had :)

I’d have it playing in the background 24/7 if I could find more than two subbed episodes of the original

I liked the show, but I seem to remember Craig Charles commonly calling contestants on the show "Happy Slappy Jappy Chappy"
