Between US evangelicals and the oddest French Tradcaths alive posting about this it is fucking exhausting.

Most actual religious people I've talked to have said it was a pretty fun mixup of The Last Supper with Pagan symbolism because they've read a book that wasn't the NIV Bible or Harry Potter.

It is, no elaboration needed. All the flaws of the KJV but with shit prose.

Basically there was a scene in the opening ceremony with drag performers imitating loosely the last supper by Da Vinci, but with Bacchus presiding. Trads be malding.

I remember reactionary weirdos praising Russia's Olympics for being trad while freaking the fuck out over England's because there was an interracial kiss. Same outrage.

Conservatives: "Conservatism is the new punk rock."

Also Conservatives' first reaction to literally anything: "@ Authority Figure: Are you really gonna allow this?"

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, sometimes I like the French

They strike and shut shit down, they aren't afraid to riot because they have to work and extra hour a week or their retirement age went up by six months or something

I'm from the US and we are comparatively cucked and docile as a populace

Mega downside: the French are racist and xenophobic as fuck tbh

the Olympics opening ceremony should only ever be a giant wooden cross covered in blood, with thousands of people whipping themselves and crying in ecstatic exaltation and a choir of castrato singing about eternal torment in a long dead language.

the only event should be marathon groveling and no one ever medals, because no one is worthy.

Also quick note : it's not a parody of the last supper, it's a reference to a painting named the Feast Of Gods

It's literally not a reference to Christianity but to ancient greek/roman mythology. The blue guy is literally Bacchus and it totally flew over people's heads
