Stormgate. I like my RTS treats and I thought the game was super fun during the beta test. Luckily the release is just EA with only 3 campaign missions so I hope I can beat them decently quick and then go sleep right after.

I wasnt overly keen on what I seen of stormgate. Let us know how it is.

I'm still waiting on D.O.R.F to come out.

Speaking just on the beta experience I liked it, I think the core gameplay of it felt good which put it above most recent RTSes for me. Among the major upcoming RTSes it's the only one I have any interest in as a competitive game too, since I do enjoy playing RTS comp matches (though I'm deeply mediocre at it). I don't think it's close to as good as SC2 though, and I had a lot of issues with general balancing that were gradually being ironed out over time. And obviously the game is visually still quite unpolished. I don't really expect to be wowed by the release since the betas didn't, but I do expect to enjoy my time again. I half expect the campaign story to be godawful but I'm holding out hope that the missions are interesting at least and if they are that'll be enough.

Honestly though so much of my enjoyment of an RTS comes from the faction design, and Infernals might be my second favourite faction in any RTS now, only behind SC2 protoss. I love the way that they so strongly encourage aggressive play, it meshes incredibly well with how I like to play games in general. It's such a fun and volatile force to play and it's great. They're genuinely half the reason I like the game as much as I do, playing them in beta was some of the most fun I've ever had in an RTS comp environment. But if they weren't there I'd probably have been quite disappointed, since while the core is good that's not enough to carry an RTS for me. Like I kinda hate WC3 cuz I don't like any of its factions. Even though the actual core engine is fine and feels fine.

I'm not much of a competitive player. I don't play many multiplayer games.

I do like a good RTS game tho. I usually dabble with most of the C&C games/mods and SC1.

I'm usually more of a campaign first person, but I play comp too hence my focus on it in that post.

I haven't actually played any C&C game, I probably should. I usually stuck with SC1 & 2, with a lot of EaW as a secondary. I played a lot of SC2 custom campaigns and EaW mods in particular. Though I messed around with a lot of other RTSes over the years too.

Yeah I prefer strong campaigns. I've played the battle for middle earth series, EaW, Star Wars Battlegrounds and a load of others too.
