It doesn't matter which nation produced the actors responsible, there is a ruling class of criminals who defy borders to create conditions wherein they can profit. The extent to which the constituent parts of this CIA/foreign intelligence services/business/organized crime network actually meet and speak frankly versus just generally being able to read the room is not important because the outcome is indistinguishable to us whether it's 10 guys in a smokey room or 10000 people acting as part of a system. It's a bad system either way and it should be replaced with one that makes any ruling class dictation impossible.

I think that absurd line held in mainstream media for what, maybe two or three months until it was untenable and they started pretending that some Ukrainians did it in a tiny boat

they started pretending that some Ukrainians did it in a tiny boat

Looks like that's going to be the official line if they're looking to arrest a single guy and maybe a handful of others

It's absolutely absurd to believe that this was done by three people on a tiny fishing boat but that's what's going to enter the public record forever and anyone who disagrees is a tankie

      Yup.

Russia blew up their own pipeline that was printing them money, so that they could lose lots of money AND anger the West more, instead of just turning it off. Or charging even more exorbitant prices. Or just not doing that.

So many levels of idiocy, and yet that obvious lie worked

lol Rommel being one of the main figures in the clean Wehrmacht myth. They'll take the nazi detector and say "yep we found one of the good ones".

That's why it caught my eye! Sure people are going to have the same last name as historical monsters, it happens, but giving your kid the same name as a fucking nazi general? That sets off the hitler-detector

Imagine you're a liberal journalist working at one of the largest news sites in your country, then you write an article like this.
Most liberals are technocrats and they like to pretend to be professionals.

How can you take yourself seriously after covering Nord Stream in western journals, and not sounding the alarm bells that this is complete and utter bullshit? Even worse for Germans, this could be considered treason, at least in some sense.
How are their heads not exploding from the cognitive dissonance?

And the destruction of this much money is investigated in such a lackadaisical fashion, and nobody raises an eyebrow? Completely insane.

You have to understand that Germany is now more of a vassal of the US, which is kinda insulting to medival vassal relations. During the Cold War there was some leeway, but Merkel got rid of all of that.

I witnessed that shit live. I swear, every big terrorist attack in the US gets South Asians the big stick.

Al Qaeda hit the Towers? An Indian/Pakistani IT nerd gets whacked, bonus points if they’re Sikh.

Dagestani white dude bombs marathon? Where are the brown mother fuckers.

It’s always color pallette. All the time every time.

Dollars to donuts the propaganda posters against Russians will have them depictdd with brown skin

Besides the implication of Putin destroying a thing that he already posses been idiotic, the phrase "ukrainian diver is russian" is itself dumb.

My head canon is that whoever did this may have been Ukrainian but they were for sure CIA asset and now the state department will begin their inevitable process of abandoning Ukraine and throwing them under the bus for their own failures in this conflict w/ Russia

yeah, CIA provided the planning and equipment and they just grabbed some local manpower so they can take the fall instead if necessary. Textbook plausible deniability. Looks like the Ukrainian operatives got away with it anyway with Poland's help (they are so rabidly anti Russian they for sure would help them and the US with this)

Look, it was 100% Ukraine ok? Sure they might've recieved training and equipment from the US, and the US might've briefed them on their mission and provided all the intel, and the US dropped them off and picked them up afterwards, but this is 100% Ukraine and we must proudly and patriotically ignore the US's involvement in this in order to throw this week's scapegoat under the bus!
