I never leave the house without a good beanie or toque because the local peckerwoods can't tolerate coarse hair and I have been cop-called on before when my hair was just out

Depends on the hat I think. Hardhats are probably alright, means they're big on safety in the workplace. Bike helmets? That's terrifying. That's a guy who loves the thrill of the chase.
