ATLA would be so much better if Aang's decision to spare Ozai resulted in a fascist coup against Zuko, and then the entirety of season 4 is the Gaang fighting against fire nation imperialists from a dark, cramped tunnel, scared and alone in the Earth. Just a gritty Come and See-esque exploration of the psychological toll of war, starring a cast of formerly light-hearted cartoon characters.
