The photo is a 1974 photo of Leslie Feinberg, from the FBI file on hir. I've written a piece on my interpretation of Transgender Warriors and Trans Liberation, but I don't think it's quite polished enough, so I'll post it later. Instead, I'll go over hir FBI file: https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/dc-metro/rg-065/6282555/Batch0010/6282555_100-HQ-480756.PDF.

The FBI thought Feinberg could be violating the Communist Control Act, advocating the overthrow of the government, and engaging in rebellion. Needless to say, a hero to all of us. Feinberg was a member of the Workers World Party (the party still exists, but more notably PSL split from it), which apparently wasn't openly advocating for the overthrow of the U.S, they just think it's inevitable.

My favorite line? "captioned subject is believed to be a white female, who became male through some kind of sex change operation, and is possibly homosexual". Some interesting language choice, and it's an interesting snapshot into the evolution of Leslie's identity.

The FBI found Leslie's place of birth and birthdate from public school records. It's a bit of an interesting look into all of the many places the FBI can get their information, along with how information like that was so much more patchwork before the digital age.

"Interview of subject is not being recommended because of the questionable nature of his sexuality". Hmm, interesting.

It's interesting how their investigation spanned multiple cities, from Kansas City to NYC to Bufffalo to Boston. It probably involved quite a few officers, though I'm sure it wasn't the main focus for all of them.

There's some interesting mention about changes in Leslie's gender identity. Born a girl, for a time wearing a beard and mustache, then going back to "she". I'm sure we all know, Feinberg's gender didn't stop evolving there.

"Subject reportedly contributes all extra money to WWP", Leslie definitely was dedicated to the cause. Leslie doesn't attend NYC WWP meetings, but the FBI doesn't mention why.

The FBI isn't immune to typoes, Leslie did some "criminal terspass" that garnered some attention. They wasted some time checking if Leslie was in Boston, but verified where Leslie in NYC lived by pretending to be a part of the Voter Registration Commission.

There's a whole 43 pages of documents, all just from 1974-75. There's plenty of interesting tidbits in there, so maybe check it out.

yea It does feel nice... This setup basically just mimics my real skin but with less "shadows", more consistent texture, less dark circles. Wife is gonna teach me to do it myself too...

The number of times ive cried while putting on makeup, and come out of the bathroom feeling utterly unlovable, unfuckable, ugly and wretched was depressing, but with time and practice i got better and now i can do casual makeup that looks good lea-finger-guns I still cant do like full glammy stuff without looking like a clown in really bad drag, but thats ok, i can do the basics and that gets me through my days lea-bounce

I do wanna incorporate glitter at some point, orange book reference. "Can you pull off kind of goth like Ally Sheedy in the Breakfast Club? Do you want to?" YES MA'AM I SURE FUCKIN DO!!!

(Sorry! I responded to the wrong comment initially 😅, here is where its supposed to go!)

Ugh goth looks are so fucking good!!! And yeah theres a little highlighter/contour double stick thing that i love cause its a little sparkly but not overly so, its from nyx and has two sides to it, but i only ever use the glittery end lol.

more text instructions, might be overwhelming (sorry!!!)

When doing eyeliner if you have liquid liner you can kind of "stamp" it on to your eyelid, like rest it on your lashes and gently roll it into your eyelid. That can help with getting it even and whatnot. :::___

Oh I think I understand that actually, I think I get how that's meant to work, very handy actually. Eyeliner scary...

Eyeliner is terrifying, also because it will look bad the first times you do it. If you have money to spare get yourself a pencil, a gel pot + tiny brush, and a liquid eyeliner. They all handle and apply differently. Everyone said pencils were easy and liquid was hard, but i learned liquid way quicker than pencils (plus imo it looks nicer too). But now i mostly just do tightliner and use a pencil for that so ive gotten a lot better with pencils.

Yeeeah I'm really ready for that tbh, we have both pencil and liquid eyeliner, as well as tiny brushes if need be. Seeing as my voidstranger wife is a big genius I'm not that worried, but I am pre-gamed to accept failure honestly.

Nevada is like this: Maria Griffiths is almost 30 and lives in New York and her life sucks, her job sucks, she sucks and she is hopelessly stunted. Someone should do something about it but she mostly is just irresponsible and depressed and angry, which is awesome. If she's lucky she'll be able to share all the knowledge she's gained from her totally authentic punk diy book snob new york life with some goofy twentysomething she meets, soon. It's a lot about her internal monologue, it's a character study and it has the best opening chapter ever basically. It is so good.

Oh that actually sounds kinda funny tbh. But Yeah! Nevada is also on a major press now, so I can whole heartedly recommend uh, acquiring it by methods which bypass typical currency exchange :)
