Wasn't there also a game when you played as female Link and i don't remember Nintendo building being torched and their personnel lynched over that?

BOTW has mandatory main story crossdressing Link

There's also a BOTW mod to let you play the whole game as female Link

I have like 200 hours in that game and probably wouldn't be able to finish it with 200 more. Such a mindlessly fun game. It's peak.

Yeah, the franchise is pretty fun for silly action games where you mow down dozens of guys. The Fire Emblem: Three Houses spinoff one (Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes) is pretty fun if you haven't already played it.

Yeah, Three Hopes is excellent. I only did one route, Scarlet Blaze, and really liked it since it fleshed out Edelgard better compared to Crimson Flower in Three Houses. Shez was an awesome protag and fit in with the cast. Had fun playing as Shez, Petra, and Edelgard. I wish it got a DLC expansion like the other Warriors games, but they just moved on unfortunately.

There were two CDi games that had you play as Zelda. They were terrible, but kind of meme-able.

I've wanted a Sheik spinoff where you do cool ninja stuff during the 7 years Link was sealed in the sacred realm in OoT for ages

For at least a little while I think it was "canon" that her body changed when she turned in to shiek, and then nintendo re-gonned it because they're cowards.

Same. Although it turned into make Link female over time and then don't gender Link in game and keep the character andro. I stand by that but there's still room for a fame starring Zelda and this looks like it's gonna be pretty damn fun as well

Right? And this one really doesn't look like what I wanted. It looks like some kind of pokemon thing rather than a legend of zelda game.

It's the toy looking aesthetic they used in the Link's Awakening remake a few years ago. It worked for me with that game, but the orchestrated arrangements of songs I used to hear so much on my brick Gameboy might have helped in selling it.

Half agree there, I wanted a full zelda game, but I'm spinoff pilled and think a lot of the best ideas Nintendo actually implements are in spinoffs these days, mainline games are generally too "safe" even if they are polished

It reminds me of how they handled Princess Peach Showtime. The game was clearly aimed at children, which is good of course, but it felt like it could have been more complex. It's just that they will only make one game and then revisit her only in that format.

I'd have loved to see a Zelda- focused game that had the ambition of Breath of the Wild.

Just feels like a concession to give detractors an example so the woke would stop complaining.

I was thinking about it today but chuds who teeth gnash over "woke" are the "think of the children" moms of the 90's.

Hypocrisy doesn't even slow chuds down.

One of my chuddiest relatives, between his many "nothing offends me, quit being such a delicate snowflake" speeches given during barbecues (yep, he had big grillman energy), once boasted that his single-digit-aged kids were soooo mature that he'd watch Gambo Thrones on the big tv while they played with toys on the carpet in the same room and that didn't bother them at all, so he claimed... but then a gay blowjob happened amid the SV and gory torture scenes and he lost it and ranted about that instead for days because that "could ruin his kids' minds." grill-broke

Yeah, like the plot always depends on Zelda's magic, so while she's not the playable hero and needs Link's help damzel in distress doesn't seem accurate. I mean in TOTK

      spoiler

Zelda literally turned into a giant light dragon and travelled back in time to restore the master sword lol.

She's a cool ninja and leader of the Sages in OoT
She's a cool pirate and helps fights Ganondorf with Link in WW
She is basically organizing a covert resistance from her castle in Twilight Princess and also helps fight Ganondorf.
In Skyward Sword she holds a magical seal in place for a thousand years.

See, that last comment is precisely why when YouTube suggests shit like this, I don’t go to the comments to tell them how ridiculous they are. I just tap the “don’t recommend channel” button. Engagement just makes the algorithm promote the channel even more.

That also tells the algorithm to promote the channel more. You engaged by pressing the DO NOT LIKE EVER button. It's controversial now. You'll never see it again, but Advertisers are now interested.

      Fuck this straight Earth.
