It really bothered me during the month chapo was down. Having a place to go where people acknowledge that this is fucked up is sufficient for me to stay sane. But being completely surrounded by a society hellbent on norms is awful.

Join a local org, find other leftists around you and get in contact. If your only outlet is chapo, that's bad

The folks I organize with acknowledge that things are shit, but when I try to joke about it they look at me like I'm wearing a cactus for a hat.

My province has been virtually unaffected by the Virus itself, we had about 100 total cases, then we got control of that shit quick. Since we're an island, it's been dead easy to keep things isolated, so we're been sitting pretty at something like 2 or 3 months with no new cases. Life goes on, at work we're starting to really ramp up our Christmas stock and it's driving me mad because it's the same amount of shit as last year, so same shit in retail as usual.

I dunno really where I was going with this but I suppose I can relate to what you feel. I just feel like putting out a bunch of Holiday themed baubles is so pointless in the face of global pandemics and economic upheaval.

I just started university and I realised that I have never seen my classmates' or professors' faces without their masks...

Every morning I wake up and want to be struck by lightning. No one in my area is taking it seriously even tho we had a 50% increase in cases in one week. At this point I feel like Americans just aren’t salvageable. Culture’s too fucked and has twisted too many people. Let it burn I guess.

I dunno how you are experiencing it, but I am mostly able to get by and then I just occasionally am hit by waves of anger and disgust. I want to scream and fight do anything, but it wouldn't make a difference

Me and everyone I know is kinda confortable but then I just had a pair of friends just fall off the map. Were they too embarassed about having to relocate to talk about stuff? Dead of a plauge? Evicted and phone cut off? Who can know.

Yeah, is anyone else in to Jean Baudrillard, Marshall Mcluhan, Umberto Eco? The way we have a need to interact with reality but we end up constructing reality because digital capitalism has us doing that.

Literally everything in my life is completely normal, actually pretty ok. But there's also this other reality where things are terrible. It's like spheres of reality. Weird fucking stupid ass capitalism.

It's bad. I've been interviewing and job searching since the start and I feel like I've lost so much sanity having to pretend that everything is fine for these fucking HR people. I just want to be able to live and hopefully pay off this fucking degree, doing the dance is ripping away my will to live.

Read Debord and Deleuze. The descent into madness is to be expected, and probably welcomed.
