    [Completely Understandable]

And you didn't find you were going in too fast or didn't know enough about her?

in practically the first paragraph of Morgan's introduction, I had a sense for what kind of character she would be - she fits the hot-cold trope to a T (what does this idiom mean btw lol). tbh I have had a bit of a problem with people like this in the past and it's led to some bad relationships (as you can imagine), but in a book I know I can live out that fantasy of someone with really rough edges feeling safe and opening up around me, and that soft side, initially reserved for me only, but soon blooming to all their relationships, and the rough side turning into a protective one.

So, all of my early interactions with her were after me just kinda clicking on the archetype she represented and being like "finally, I can do this in a queer way," so I didn't feel like it was going to fast, since I knew what I signed up for. I agree that I wish there was more slice of life stuff.

If this were irl though, 100% I would hope that I would act nothing like my character, be able to set boundaries, instead of letting myself freeze and be shy and not be able to reason as soon as I get any kind of positive, confident attention. but ... well, my history unfortunately is not great in this regard. luckily, i am with a very quiet and gentle partner now and so hopefully my troubled days are over.

boinking: so, the first sex scene was interesting in the way it was worded, since I had the same curiosity as you did going in to it. first of all: i'm probably going to break rules if I described how it made me feel. undyne-owo

second: please don't kill me mods i'm sorry

it describes a scene in which she uses her fingers (I chose receptive) but it just mentions then being between the PC's legs, without specifying specifics. I think this made it pretty accessible.

      spoiler

Okay I guess, huh. I wasn't actually geared for thinking romance tropes even though I know Ava is just a really long-game Ice Queen... huh. Idk if Farah fits any useful trope though. This also confirms my theory about it being very allosexual, alloromantic focused. I am not this, so rip. I like Morgan the more I hang with her, although if she tried to pull the "huhuu its just sex" I'd fucking slap her honestly. Makes sense though.

I like that the funny game represents a cool and fun fantasy that you would never do irl but can enjoy in a fiction. That's a cool and rad thing, absolutely uncritical support, weh I love romance as a genre.

Lmao well glad to know it's well written at least? That's hilarious to me though, that the author tried to write it as... broadly? as possible. Makes me wonder what the fuck is written for a none biney detective. I will have to mess around and find out about it. Ty for your info!! rat-salute-2

Idk if Farah fits any useful trope though.

this is honestly the sense i got from her character as well, which is maybe nice, but reading your posts, it sounds like maybe there wasn't a lot of substance there.

This also confirms my theory about it being very allosexual, alloromantic focused.

yeah, despite Morgan being a little bit relateable in sensory issues (and for a moment thinking it might be an intentional coding), there were some moments that I was like "uhhh there is no way i would be doing any of these super NT things" with my own character. it kinda pulled me out of my own PC a few times just to see how I would suddenly act super NT and I had definitely a disconnect with that that made me feel less embodied in the PC.

although if she tried to pull the "huhuu its just sex" I'd fucking slap her honestly.

this seems like the healthy & correct option tbh, and iirc i think it was one of the options. unfortunately, i have a rather extreme "please like me" problem.

I like that the funny game represents a cool and fun fantasy that you would never do irl but can enjoy in a fiction.

yeah, that was nice, and I bet some folks would enjoy playing an NT role (not me though, I like being myself in these sorts of things). i find as i get older that the gap between things i want in reality and what i fantasize about is widening, so i'm happy about that in some respects.

Makes me wonder what the fuck is written for a none biney detective.

hmmmm, good question. My guess is that it would be the same text, it seemed pretty generic to me, but again my memory is pretty fuzzy.

          b, Farah discussion

Well I also deliberately held off from most flirting, stuff like that, so I don't really know her still. She has always been a vampire and came from Echo, she is into teasing a bit I think? She's impatient and energetic. But like Idk much else about her. Kind of sucks, and I did read from genderisopsec that her route is blegh.

Oh yeah, as an autist I appreciate the game mostly letting me sail obnoxiously & obliviously through conversation, but explicit support for more neurodiverse options broadly would be great. I do think it does an admirable job of immersing you overall but the further out you get from "a cis gay" the weirder things can get on that front.

Weh, I'm glad that's an option. I want to have that talk with HER first instead of having her drop it as a cool sassy one liner on the fucking waitress baker lady. Communicate and be open with me you fucking hardass badboy vampire lesbian fuck!!! Ugh fuck you she makes me mad already, and not in a fun way!!! aubrey-rage-cry

i find as i get older that the gap between things i want in reality and what i fantasize about is widening,

          thinkin-lenin Interesting development, hmmmmm...

My guess is that it would be the same text,

Oh I wonder about the mechanics of this so much!!! So I guess whether you initiate decides who does the insertion, (no options for power bottoms or service tops, sorry lol) but does it not differ by gender at all? Indeed, can you have a straight male detective who's really into getting his ass worked out? That would be neat, sort of fascinating. Hmmmmm, so much to think about, I am so curious.......

tbh your description of Farah does sound kinda intriguing, if only I didn't already know that it's not really well-developed.

Ugh fuck you she makes me mad already, and not in a fun way!!!

totally, i generally hate it when crappy jerks are in media, even if they get better later, because i can't stand them being crappy. makes me not want to rewatch the movie/show/anime/book tbh, and sometimes i even want to quit media. i have to remind myself that these characters exist in order to get better and be healed through the narrative of the story, because i'll just be super mad otherwise. (I guess this book is an exception to all of that, I think I found Morgan funny immediately, or maybe there was some endearing bits early on, or maybe her radiant top energy just made me go all soviet-bottom )

actually, on second thought, i suppose the sex text might not work for cishet style - so maybe it does change, after all? i wonder if save tweaking could help for seeing the text (or i bet we could just extract the script lol)

edit: oh shoot lost track of time i may have to disappear to sleep, but i've enjoyed the chat, as always!

Well, maybe I just don't get her, I guess. I desire that people show me their soft underbelly (as I will mine) if we're gonna be intimate though, I consider it a prerequisite Idk. One of the troubles with shit like this is that obviously romance is hyper subjective, so Farah's bit could be really good and I'm just wooshing it because demi.

Waow that sounds pretty difficult... glad this could be the exception for you though. Fwiw I found Morgan instantly annoying but warmed to her pretty darn quick so she does have some appeal, I guess.

i suppose the sex text might not work for cishet style

che-smile lol lmao, we should get genderisopsec to tell us tbh

Same and same, I adore discussing the fruity vampire game & its intricacies, and you have given me much to chew on mentally. Thank you cat-trans
