I didn't watch, but I'm not suprised to hear he looked bad. Trump actually soinded like shit in the last debate, but Biden was so much worse no one said anything about it.

Trump was more unhinged than expected during the debate. Said immigrants were eating people's pets, that Tim Wahls supports executing babies after they're born.
He said illegal immigrants were getting "trans surgery" in the US, and eating cats and dogs.
This is probably what he was thinking, he got to the "illegal alien" line, his brain failed to load a stereotype he was supposed to use, started thinking of stereotypical alien behaviour, then it pulled out a file from an episode of Alf he watched back when he was happy, and just sent it to his vocal chords
