Has he ever tweeted about Assange tho? Or did this person just do a tweet search now and assumed he deleted all of them?

There is a difference, and I don't know why a Reddit comment with 30 upvotes is being used as a source???

Just to make clear, he probably should've tweeted something (I'm sure he's made public statements anyway) -- and if they did delete tweets, well, that sus as fuck. But I think we as a community should aim higher than a random Reddit comment screenshot as proof of anything...

EDIT: Decided to research it, and this screenshot is just bullshit. Bernie has never mentioned Assange in a tweet. He's been criticized for not talking about Assange in the past, so this isn't really something new and shocking... He did tweet when Assange was indicted: https://twitter.com/SenSanders/status/1132021213717512193

there's a lot of people here who will believe almost anything as long as it's posted in the form of a screenshot

Good work! I wonder if the 23 other commenters will learn anything from falling for this screenshot?

Getting cucked by the Biden campaign and he will absolutely get nothing in return.

I know what his thinking is: if the Biden campaign loses, he will be blamed for it in the most stupid ways, like "An Assange tweet from early 2020 was on your timeline so Biden lost" and if he does what the Biden campaign says he will have some influence in the Biden administration.

But Dems will prefer working with "honorable" Republicans over Bernie no matter what if Biden wins and Bernie will be blamed for Biden's loss no matter what if Biden loses.

Sanders is one old and tired guy, someone who's done literally the most to push the left forward in America in recent years. Acknowledging that he's giving up and getting nothing in return for it is fine - it's the truth. (Though burning all bridges and going out in a blaze of Democrat-denouncing glory may close future paths for young Berniecrats, so maybe him going quietly at least legitimizes him in the eyes of Democratic voters.) But throwing invective against him is misdirected anger. He can only do so much. Let him rest and take care of his heart. Make sure youngings like AOC don't slide backward instead.

Right? It doesn't unring the bell. If I wanted to write something accusing Bernie of being a Russian operative or something and used his opinions on Assange to build my argument I could still pull those tweets and anything else he's ever said

Barbra Streisand effect. I seriously don't know how communications people don't understand this. Bernie has been relatively ideologically consistent as far as American politicians go, he's throwing credibility away. And holy fuck massive critical support of Assange against empire.

Didn't Bernie tell his supporters not to believe anything that he says after he drops out? I kept seeing people saying that, but don't know where they got it from.

I agree this is bad, but also, how do public figures not have scripts to auto delete posts over a month old at this point? It has the benefit of not having to be directly responsible for views you held in the past, which public figures desire, but without the opportunity of people pointing out that you deleted tweets about X in particular.
