Death to america, of course
The whole fucking point of covering vaccines is that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This is penny wise pound foolish to the extreme.
They have a plan for that: deny care for the actual disease too, since you didn't get vaccinated against it
What’s up with insurance customers assuming that their medical needs will be covered? Ugh. Entitled millennials.
I love that a large portion of my paycheck goes to the privilege of having insurance that applies to nothing. It’s a neat system.
Dental insurance literally should be called tooth cleaning insurance because that’s basically all it covers
At least it's better than vision insurance. Which is basically just making name brand frames slightly cheaper
Wear the same pair of cheap online glasses until you can barely see and need to buy a new pair gang
Unfortunately my eyes say fuck me and need new lenses every year. Funny thing is the frames are nothing compared to lense prices :(
If you are in the US, see if you have americasbest.com near you. Their eyecare club is $130 for three years and you get up to 2 exams per year. Then just take that rx to your preferred online store.

love that my insurance doesn't cover any of the CPAP equipment I need from my medical supplier that refuses to ship me certain parts because my insurance hasn't authorized it even though they're not paying a dime for it so I just buy cheaper knockoffs on Amazon and roll the dice to see if they'll fit properly or not so I haven't actually had a decent night's sleep in months
LITERALLY
I am LOSING my mind at the thoughts brought on by this. They have insurance, and money (though not enough to just pay out the nose for vaccines) and made a GD appointment ahead of time only to end up getting sent away, and turned away for a walk in at the second place they tried
“No worries we can do a quick credit check and you can get a medical credit card and pay off your Covid jab over time !!! Owo”
Show"Ah you see getting vaccines is a loser mentality. It shows you are thinking 'I might get this disease'. We deliver optimal results by encouraging positive thinking. Here, try a few examples:
- I don't need that vaccine I am invincible and immortal
- This isn't that dangerous and debilitating disease I avoided getting vaccinated for, it's probably just a cold
- I'll make it through this, and whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger
and after that you aren't our problem anymore 💀"
yea this has happened. if it's not in network they will tell you to fuck yourself
Something similar happened to my brother last year for his Covid and flu vaccines. Walgreens said it didn’t accept his insurance and he had to wait another couple weeks for another pharmacy to be able to give them to him
Is it the new Covid shots? Sometimes it takes a bit for the insurance companies to update their formularies.
They could also check if a different shot is covered. Like Moderna instead of Pfizer or whatever they were trying to get initially.
it was both covid and flu. I dont know the details but I dont even think they were attempting to specifically get the new shot/a specific shot.
they tried for 30 mins so I assume that was tried but idk
yeah it was at the clinic/pharmacy in a target or a grocery store or something
Okay 2 things they might wanna try.
Call that pharmacy and figure out which Covid shots they have, then find a pharmacy that has a different one.
Pharmacies can bill medical insurance for vaccines, so if they were only trying their pharmacy coverage, try their medical.
A lot of miscommunication happens in medical settings, sometimes the technicians are inexperienced (high turnover) and they enter things wrong or bill the insurance wrong.
If none of that works they’ll wanna call their insurance and ask what is covered and where, if at all.
thanks for the practical advice. this was mostly a rant post tbh but I'll pass it along
Yeah I just hate hearing these stories and really want to help people get vaccinated. If I had been helping your friend I would’ve told them all this lol
Our medical system is 10x more complicated than it needs to be. (100% due to capitalism)
Yes, they still all are. Aetna or Caremark are guaranteed to work at CVS tho cause the same company owns them all lol
Is their health insurance Kaiser? Never do Kaiser if you can help it, especially if you can get a PPO instead. A Kaiser PPO does not count
I don't think that one exists in my state, but regardless no. Some other bullshit.
