      wow it is cursed

Yeah, it's bad, but there are so many ways to phase it out without banning it outright and pissing off the voters you need the most in the process. In short, Biden won't ban fracking, but his renewable energy policies should squeeze it out of the market by the end of his second term.

big "the market will save us" vibes here

we needed to beat Trump, so we adopted his platform and promised to execute all leftists on sight if we gained power! The left HAS to win!

For once, do the right thing, not the vote-winning thing.

      Lol they are doing neither.

I think a normal society at some point would've said "hey this seems bad, maybe we shouldn't do this."
        But nope, here we are.

Never heard of that, given I'm not American, but still. Damn, that is pretty bad.
But hey with how the market is going now fracking will surely be out phased by 2100.
So it is all good, just let the market do its thing.

They're going to frame climate change into an argument about personal responsibility. Instead of talking about taking measures to go after corporations and the fossil fuel industry, they are just going to start yelling at you for owning a gas car, and fuck you if can't afford a Tesla.

God I hate these smug assholes so much.

Yes, thank you for articulating my frustration with libs when arguing about climate change. "But Biden will be better for climate change than Trump!" It's a difference that's so paltry it isn't functionally different. But when I point that out on like the politics sub, the response I get back "yeah but it's still a difference!"

Got a bunch of shit on /r/dankleft for saying that this shit is making me not vote for Biden as a PA voter. Fracking is literally poisoning my water and air. Why would I vote for people who continue that?

Anyway, a single fracking well outside of Pittsburgh released more Methane over 20 days than most countries produce in a year.

This figure, from one well in less than three weeks, eclipsed the annual amount of methane that is emitted by the oil and gas industries of France, Norway, and the Netherlands combined

Holy shit, this is totally crazy, in three weeks more than all these countries combined.
But yeah, let's just phase it out, no problem at all. :this-is-fine:

Doesn’t fracking employ like a minuscule amount of folks? So the whole idea of pro-fracking voters is just assholes who like the idea of fracking to own the libs?

      So according to this:

Food & Water Watch created a model that more accurately reflects the actual number of jobs in the industry in five categories (oil and gas extraction; support activities for oil and gas operations; drilling oil and gas wells; oil and gas pipeline construction; and pipeline transportation). These five sectors accounted for 621,504 jobs in 2017, and 685,534 in 2018.

The only thing that was maybe going to convince me to vote for Biden was that we might get to add some time to the "climate clock", but I'm glad that we could clear up that it won't matter either way and I can rest easy not voting for Biden in my state that might be (but probably won't be) a swing state.
