The most surprising part to me is the FBI actually investigating and prosecuting rather than funding and assisting.

I think the greet us as liberators thing is something that people, like say, John Bolton genuinely believe. He still thinks the Iraq war was good on the basis that it prevented a genocide against the Kurds (who at various points were deeply pro American), the same can be said about Kosovo and the US.

They cite single examples to justify everything.

No one whose worked for the FBI long enough to be in a meaningful managerial position is a conspiracy theorist. They're probably a democrat at this point too anyways just like all the top brass from the military.

they were planning for months to kidnap whitmer

said her emergency powers was motive

federal informants & undercover agents involved

whitmer's emergency powers are taken away

THEN the plan is foiled after months of plans and informants. only after no more motive

Ladies and gentlemen, we've got ourselves an op. Tying up loose ends now that they're no longer needed.

Totally missed this in the news, just read up on it.

TL;DR Dem MI governor invoked emergency powers to handle pandemic; GOP wanted to kill them after April 30; on Oct 3 the MI Supreme Court ruled her powers unconstitutional.

      The coincidence is pretty uncanny.

Yeah it’s a win-win for them. Entrap and organize a bunch of rightwing psychos to kidnap the Democrat governor. If it’s needed and goes well, they remove a political opponent. If it isn’t they can call it off and have plausible deniability if something goes wrong. Even get credit for stopping a terrorist and saving the day.

Honestly if you are buying the story the FBI is pitching, you are a rube.

The chance that they entrapped these guys, given the FBIs history, is high.

I'm sure these guys fucking suck but don't buy the narrative pitched from the US secret police.

It is, in fact, not, because they will use the same tactics against us ten times for every right wing militia they string out to show that they are "not politically motivated".

and when they do it to the Left it's bad. Kind of like how a left wing uprising is awesome and cool while a right wing one is kristalnacht

they'll never get far before someone on the group calls someone else a lib, then arguments about theory break out, and they never get back on topic before the group completely implodes.

They're going to do all that stuff against the left anyways. Right wing lone actor domestic terrorism is a much bigger threat than anything else happening in the world of revolutionary politics in the US.

Entrapping right-wing psychos who are relatively harmless to build public support for the FBI, which is a group of actually organized and harmful right-wing psychos is bad actually

I think the scary thing is that they might use this as a method to increase/justify the police state surveillance, like how post-911 the FBI would be like "look at these dangerous ISIS members we just captured! This is why we need to tap your grandma's phone line now!" But I guess that's already happening so whatever

in a follow-up chat about the plan, Franks told the informant, “OK, sounds good. I’m in for anything, as long as it’s well-planned,” according to authorities.

Sure sounds like the cop suggested some specific attack and this guy Franks went along for the ride.

One of the undercover agents told Fox it would cost about $4,000 to procure the explosives

Sure sounds like the cop was the one suggesting major steps forward.

That said, zero sympathy for chuds who are so incompetent they can't find a handful of bloodthirsty right-wingers in a country full of them.

Maybe they're investigating it because they're the ones who set it all in motion just so that they could say that they caught some people. The FBI does it all the time.

FBI plant: "Hey guys, I know we are always talking about how the government is treading on us and everything. But how about we do something about it? Like, uh, what if we kidnap the governor?'

Militia member: "Dude you're so smart. Alright, let's do it."
