I was just making a joke about how Trump called dead WWI troops losers and suckers. I do have a ton of empathy for them. I almost signed up for the military without a recruiter even tricking me into it, but I was too young.

The pigs have the same demographic as the military because America has created a military to police pipeline to funnel a bunch of murderers from foreign wars into a role that suppresses, controls, and murders Black and Brown people in a domestic class war. But we also gotta know why this shit happens, they are lied to and brainwashed by propaganda. A lot of these boys come from the south and midwest where jobs are lacking or non-existent. They are not actually taught how to manage money (any better than your average college-bound teenager). So as soon as they get that first bonus, they spend it all on a car and have to cycle through multiple times to pay things off; then they meet a girl or get them pregnant and now they got child support, marriage, etc. I remember my call from the military recruiter. I wasn't radicalized at the time, but I was completely disinterested. I had top-notch AP scores, SAT scores, my dad was gonna pay for the first year of college. I had zero interest in joining, even if for a while I thought the military "gave structure", or seemed cool like the movies, as a dumb ass teenager. One of my closest friends at the time, smarter than me to be honest, was kicked out of his parents at 18. He lived with us and then with an old lady, and worked at Walmart for 6 months before he joined. Material conditions are what make the military death machine possible. I think there was a recent report that Seattle is the worst place to recruit teenagers because the $15/hr wage made it easy to survive.
The systemic forces that put them into these positions of oppression take away their humanity just as they dehumanize others. They shouldn't be the priority, tho. The humanization of the oppressed always comes first, but the byproduct of humanized oppressed is in turn the humanization of the oppressor as they no longer have the power to oppress and can become equally human.
