I do not want to be reminded of the inevitable march of time, yet you leave it up
What a good game that was (when I was twelve and beating someone to death with a dildo was peak humor)
Probably the most popular game ever here in the Balkans. It's a thing where we were so little here and obviously didn't know a lick of English, we would just type in cheats and blow shit up. It's so culturally relevant, there are still Balkan multiplayer servers even to this day.
Good game, the graphics were a bit bad at the time. But it's pretty impressive for a PS2 game, it even had multiplayer on the PS2 and Xbox. The story starts really well and then it becomes a weird spy movie shit only to return to gang war.
Weirdly enough, GTA2's "future" setting relative to when it came out means it would've been playing out around the events of GTAV if they occupied the same continuity
GTA 2 also has the most edgy mission in the GTA series, were you kill random civilians and sell their corpses as meat, no one seemed to care about this except for Sony (PS1) and Sega (Dreamcast), who changed the sprites to gang members.
i still play it on my modded vita. still holds up really well as a portable game
Still a fun game that I play time-to-time, just to cheat and go on a round-the-world rampage. There's something serene about having Classical music play as you blast in every direction with your tank while zoom zooming through a city.
