The majority report is the smuggest lib bullshit I've ever seen in my life. I find it repulsive. Even the name of the show is nail curlingly up itself.

I thought the Twitch drama died down last week after Ethan got bored trying to deplatform leftists and Arabs? What happened now?

Destiny and his side kick named Dan have been telling all of Destiny's fans and Ethan's fans to call their congressmen to say that Twitch is antisemitic for not banning Hasanabi for criticizing Israel. Democratic Congressman Riches Torres has been tweeting slander about Hasan every day for almost a week now.

This is a zionist article accusing Twitch and Hasanabi of being anti-semitic, citing Ritchie Torres, published today.

Wtf, this is pretty serious, Hasan needs to start looking at legal avenues, this shit is straight up defamation

Yeah if I was Hasan I would be get legal onto this because he's clearly being targeted for being an anti-zionist arab, not anti-Semitic.

Shit is racist and slimey as fuck

The problem with pursuing the legal avenue here is that the US congress either just passed a bill or is about to pass a bill that directly equates anti-zionism with antisemitism, which means that Hassan is probably not gonna be able to bring a libel suit.

He's the largest leftist pipeline on the western internet and the biggest pro-palestine voice in terms of absolute audience

I don't care if he's a dude-bro millionaire obsessed with Zayns, he's an asset and that's all that matters

Sorry but this is just delusional. This so called “socialist” (read as radlib) online pipeline has been running for a decade and has achieved exactly nothing. A few fundraisers I guess. The American “left” is as cucked as it’s ever been.

It’s fine to consume an entertainment product, but people need to stop thinking they’re engaging in some kind of political action by doing so, and stop thinking the streamers are enacting some kind of political program beyond enriching themselves. It has about as tangible an impact as posting on hexbear.net. Even if these streamers had correct analysis, which they very rarely do, theory is nothing without practical activity, and all these streamers encourage is a passive “politics via voyeurism”, passive consumption of an endless stream of dopaminergic borderline political content. Which, again, is fine as an entertainment product but it isn’t advancing any real socialist movement.

The biggest pro-Palestine voice? There are countless actual Palestinians out there sharing their stories, why should I care what some millionaire petit-brogeois living in the heart of the empire (and much closer to the top of the tree than you or I will ever be) has to say?

(I edited this like a billion times because I kept having other random thoughts and also changed it to be less rude)

A pipeline radicalizing scores of people doesn't fit the definition of "achieved exactly nothing" and it certainly isn't deluded to point that out, nobody claimed Hasan is the harbinger of the revolution, but he is useful insofar as his reach normalizes our politics, Hasan cussing out zionists on Piers Morgan has objectively been more useful than the entirety of the output of most american leftist parties

It’s fine to consume an entertainment product

I mean you don't seem to think it's fine

No bro, don’t you get it?

It’s better if a person who for the past year has been covering Palestine for 8 hours every day to his majority western audience, with 30k listening in all the time, has raised millions for charities in Palestine like Red Crescent and UNRWA, has Palestinian journalists on his show and gives space and voice and humanizes victims of genocide is kicked off the platform and silenced so that there is no space for a similar voice at a similar scale left for those people to express those views. It’s just entertainment bro. If you disagree you’re a lib.

                  I can’t with these people.

@glimmer_twin@hexbear.net Media has a material impact on the world.. There is a reason Zionists want him off. Even if you disagree with him, having even one platform of anywhere near his size for Palestinian voices among a sea of zionist ones should be enough for you to realize that this is bigger than your personal feelings about him.

Seems like his normalisation of “genocide is bad” is going great. I just don’t buy this pipeline theory at all. It’s something I’ve heard for years. Where are all these countless socialists being pushed out of this pipeline? What are they doing? All the streamers seem to create is more people viewing streams. The pipeline stops at the point of subscription.

Ritchie Torres is funded by AIPAC. Ritchie Torres has received over $1 million in campaign donations from Israeli lobby groups. Ritchie Torres accused Hasan, a muslim man, of liking terrorist attacks. "One wonders if Hasan has ever seen an Anti-American or antisemitic terrorist attack he didn’t like?" That is Islamophobia. If you see a Pro-Palestinian muslim man being called a terrorist by a Zionist lobby-funded politician and your response is to downplay the slander, then you're Islamophobic.

This is not "streamer drama". Ritchie Torres is a congressman in the United States congress and funded by AIPAC and you said that you don't care when he slanders people on behalf of the state of Israel. That's not streamer drama. That's you saying it's okay when US politicians slander people to spread Zionism.

Its even worse bc the clip uploader clickbaited the title and thumbnail to make it seem like the majority report is shitting on Hasan, when actually it's a caller to the majority report that is doing it and the hosts are pushing back on the caller.

Not even, it's just misleadingly titled/thumbnailed, it's actually a caller into the majority report that is mad at Hasan and they pushed back against the caller.

And to be clear this is a fan channel, not an official channel. It's just a random uploader doing the clickbaiting.

TMR was helpful for me back during the Brooks era for repeatedly and thoroughly explaining to me the seemingly infinite (and intentional) failings of the US government in basically every way (governmental design, legislative process, its courts, the role of Republicans, the infinite inaction/excuses of non-action from democrats), but I can't imagine there are viewers who watch every day, understand that these systems they constantly report on are irreparably and intentionally broken to the degree that the system itself demands harm-reduction support as its best-case response to state sanctioned and funded genocide, and then somehow continually comes to the conclusion that no- somehow there is an electoral strategy to get out of this.

So thanks TMR for helping bludgeon past me in to realizing working-in-the-existing-system solutions is the plight of insanity and forcing me to seek out alternative structures and methods for analysis (climate change was my primary radicalizing driver at that time and what ultimately led to me being here now), but it's sad that the show itself can't seem to also take that step.

I disagree with them a not insignificant amount nowadays, especially on the points you raised. But they have some amazing interviews with people nearly every day. It’s usually related to history or systems or politics and delves deep - like an academic or a journalist talking about a book or a discovery etc. And their fun half shitting on people is quite amusing.

So, it’s still worth listening in the sense that they provide something that I don’t see anyone else providing. You just have to be able to ignore the times they delve into their liberalism. I, personally, am able to just roll my eyes at that and wait for it to be over but I can understand if you can’t.

I've never understood the appeal of streamers, but at least most streamers play video games and I can see where there might be somee meager entertainment value in that. But political streamers must be an especially cursed strain. What, you're going to spend the minutes of the only life you'll ever have watching some asshole live react to a clip from CNN? And then drama streamers must be even worse. You're going to watch some guy talk about how a different streamer is leaving her also streamer husband because he cheated with a different streamer and spent their life savings on crypto? Why?

Granted, Hasan's probably the best we could hope for from politics streamers, I just take issue with the entire form. I feel the same way about 24 hour news channels and daytime television.

It's basically just GenZ version of Talk Radio. It's mostly the same formula, and Hassan is doing fucking God's work trying to denazify young GenZ men, which is a tall order.
