These people sure seem serious about their soccer, but I don’t have a home team.

Should I just copy my wife? It might be funny to root against her soccer team sometimes tho.

What is hexbears opinions on British soccer?

Copy your wife, football has already wrecked enough British families.

I don't know much of anything about soccer/football but I have seen videos of Celtic fans waving Palestinian flags and belting out The SAM Song so there's that. You can also utilize the tried and true method of just saying, "Did you see that ludicrous display last night?" and then regardless of what your interlocutor replies, say, "The thing about Arsenal is they always try and walk it in."

I was gonna suggest Celtic when I saw the title of this post and saw you had already done so. By far the most pro-Palestine soccer team in the UK and probably the most left wing club in general, too. Liverpool is up there too if you want to stay in England.

Some second tier never sold to sheikhs/mericans? (with some investigation they aren't milwall tier dipshits)

    or celtic

My girlfriend supports Liverpool. I do not care for the sport and the strange way people talk about their teams as though they are part of the decision making process. Maybe in just a grumpy loser but whatever.

You'll probably have more fun throwing in with her than mixing it up

Yeah for sure. Liverpool are an exciting team. Stuff happens as far as I can tell

They have a more leftist reputation than most other English football clubs, as much as that's worth.

Safest option. Also please call it football, not s*****.

Football is serious business. Wearing the wrong team jersey can get you anything from angry looks to shoves. Listen to your wife.

In general, most football fans are working class, but some are racist or otherwise bigoted. Liverpool and Arsenal have probably the best fanbases among the big clubs.

If you want to follow a team but don’t plan on going to matches: Celtic or Liverpool - probably the more left leaning fan groups in British football.

Otherwise whichever team is the closest, and attend some home matches. Watching a match in person is one of my favourite things. I don’t really enjoy watching most matches on tv, but I almost never regret seeing a match in person.

Also, I forgot to mention, find a club that has a women’s side (that they don’t totally neglect) and attend the women’s matches. The fans are generally more pleasant and the football is just as enjoyable to watch.

You should make comments about it not being a real sport, and that if any of the players tried Kabaddi they would lose hard.

Either Liverpool or Celtics, they are left-wing teams. Just don't say soccer, most places outside the US is football and some people will get annoyed if you say soccer.

I would echo other sentiments in this thread and say go attend local non-league matches, by far the best way to experience the beautiful game.

If you gotta pick a PL side though I gotta advocate for Arsenal, been a diehard supporter for almost 20 years even though I’m from Canada. I like other commentators shout for Crystal Palace as well if you wanna follow a not as popular club, always had a soft spot for them.

Premier League football is of an amazing skill level and is wildly entertaining but imo requires a level of cognitive dissonance to enjoy, as do most treats I guess.
