I'm just about to finish S1 of TNG. In addition to being kinda based, it's honestly amazing how well that show holds up almost 35 years later. Yeah some of the sets and effects are a bit dated but really it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the show at all.
If you think S1 holds up, wait until you get further in. TNG S1 is pretty jank with the worst writing of any season.
But we do find out that data is fully functional, so that's good.
The early sets on TNG are definitely dated but it has a pretty nostalgic vibe for me since I grew up while it aired but only watched a few episodes until a year or two ago. Now I'm hooked and watching everything I can! Just finished season one of Picard.
