who wins: the power of state violence in protection of ungodly landlords.... or 6 ppl equiped with 2 chainy bois
the answer may surprise you
Love how at the end of the video you can already see them setting up a barricade.
KCTenants is based as fuck. Check out the KC tenant bill of rights they got passed to help tenants in the city. They’re legit and probably the best organizing group rn in that city according to some of my comrades living there.
so what happens to these people doing this tomorrow?
arrested or killed by cops?
Getting arrested is a very real probability, but those of us that can take these risks (personally I have nobody depending on me not being arrested for survival) are going to have to if we're going to make any real progress. Direct action always comes with risks.
Is there a bail fund or anything for this group? Definitely would be down to pitch in.
Prediction: if people refusing to vacate and chaining the doors catches on, owners are going to start setting fires and blaming it on the occupants. "They shouldn't have blocked the exits! Muh Triangle Shirtwaists!" Pocket insurance money, paint tenants as firebugs, message sent.
Note that here they are chaining the doors of the court shut. If landlords want to burn down the courts then that would be an amazing self own.
Ah, I read too little and too fast and thought they were chaining shut the properties in question with themselves inside.
Totally understand since refusing to vacate under an eviction notice has been a tactic in the news lately too.
I would rather seize every last building in the city than watch a single landlord burn any of them down
Holy crap. Like a year ago they were incredibly lib, wanting to "work with the landlords" and opposed to even talking about tenant unions.
:mao-aggro-shining: :mao-shining: first god sent the floods, then he warned of fire. "A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another.”
