Lmao at libs in replies talking about teaching being the most noble and important job when the guy is going to teach "state politics".
Beto is literally gonna be the guy that makes you do the political compass as a serious thing in class
He's going to be the guy that thinks he's the cool prof, but everyone loves him because he teaches the easy section of the course.
Like state politics sounds like such a boring course to take i don’t know like I will give him this I probably would respect him more as a teacher than most dem primary candidates at least he just fucked off
I was taught “American Political Parties” by the active chair of the Republican Party in my state. Dude just talked about Rockefeller being the greatest thing to happen. Guess which state.
Imagine going to college and your professor stands on the desk at every lecture
oh god that stupid thing, giving the workers an extra job to do cleaning the shit from his shoes off the table
Teaching is a noble profession because it takes a fair bit of training, it's hard work, and it's poorly paid. Why would you give the same respect to a rich unremarkable failson who is lecturing? Lecturing is probably easier than the job of an elementary or high school teacher tbh.
I feel like most public school teachers at least are somewhat honorable with their intentions. And yeah the job is hard as fuck. College professors on the other hand... hm
I mean it's hardly as if being a college professor is easy. Generally speaking, college professors are at the top of their field. Even professors at not elite universities are among the best in the world in their field. That level of expertise DOES matter for teaching advanced (and especially graduate) courses. At least in my experience, professors to put in a lot of effort to make truly difficult topics accessible to their students. (Although without a doubt there are programs where the instructors are bad and don't know what they are doing. This is generally the fault of the university administration pushing for a program to have underpaid lecturers without academic experience as a moneymaking venture.)
Now on the other hand, lecturing what is essentially a non-academic elective like Beto is doing, that is a joke.
As much of a dork Beto is, he'd for sure be down for having class outside and he'd totally skate a penny board. I think he may even be kinda cool.
If anything he's just finding his role. Very uncool as a presidential candidate, pretty cool as a lib professor.
To be fair some of the most habitual losers in professional sports end up being good head coaches
At least it is at a standard state college. I have more respect he's doing Texas State than an Ivy league or UT. However, I absolutely would take a class with him just to see what it's like.
Yeah, like seriously, good for him if he wants to give back in that way, and he’s teaching state politics, so would probably be interesting. But fuck that guy when it comes to being a politician lmao. Ivy League seems like the usual place ghouls go to infest young minds with their neoliberal drivel
Lol Ken bodied him in reply https://mobile.twitter.com/kenklippenstein/status/1317145024086347777
Didn't Chasten also get a job teaching or is studying at Harvard now for some reason?
So Mayo Pete's husband's name is the male version of "Chastity"? Boo.
Yeah you know what we say not a single bad person has ever teached at a university never please do not search anything about this
Can’t speak for Texas state, but Ivy League schools and DC area schools and University of a Chicago have NEVER EVER had any bad professors
Can’t speak for Texas state
I can. I don't remember any prof that was particularly ghoulish, but LBJ is an alumnus.
