It's a dumb idea, but caters specifically to the wealthy who will now enjoy their own private transit system to get away from all the poors above. But if the tunnel is anything like the Tesla cars I'm sure it'll be racking up the fatalities when the cars start breaking down in the 50 mile tunnel and nobody can get out.
The wealthy can finally go from the bank to sniff on their gold to their skyscraper without seeing a real human being.

The best things about a subway system are that sharing one engine between many people is efficient, and that a rail prevents the need for any steering. The worst parts are that tunneling is expensive and stations are even more expensive.
So let's make a new system where everyone uses a fully separate vehicle, relying on advanced software for steering, still needing tunnels, and needing even more vertical access ways onto the street. Also it's a fire hazard, relies on individuals separately maintaining vehicles for safety, needs more maintenance, and dumps a bunch of road traffic onto city streets where it'll still be a problem.
Once it all blows up they can widen the tunnels and put in trains
Hyperloop is just a new way for the pmcs and upper class to travel without sharing a vehicle, such as a bus or train, with the "poors". Truly disgusting capitalist thought.
Well they are "autonomous" cars on a guided system but still on the tires so they wear and tear.

I thought hyperloop was about trains running insode a vacuumized tube, which sounds stupidly hard, yet a better idea than this imo. This has to be a joke.
Las Vegas does lots of stupid, super expensive, super exclusive stuff so I'm not shocked, but it's going to suck a ton of ass which is going to be amazing
