It sucks that the concept of the commons just no longer exists. One of the greatest feats of neo-liberal capitalism was convincing people that yes indeed, everything is owned by someone and that someone isn't you.
I hate how "well, akshully, this is the way it works" is the entirety of the argument. Like, somehow something being a codified law makes it morally superior.
Also, its great to see that 'freedom' is only relegated to those already in power.

I know all the “screw you, we’re making our own social network!!” plans have thus far fallen flat... but it seems like eventually someone will actually make it work and we’ll have two totally separate and divided portions of the internet.
This has already started in a generational way with Boomers staying on Facebook, Gen X / Millennials on Twitter, and Gen Z+ on Tik Tok / Snapchat.
It seems like very soon each of these will also bifurcate in to lib / conservative, and at that point I don’t know what will happen to the internet.
