I hope one day China takes over the US and zeros all their accounts, just to show how easily their financial wealth can be removed from existence.

There's an episode of Star Trek TNG where they wake up a bunch of 20th century people, including a capitalist. He has the biggest culture shock of the episode.

picard-excited This is the 24th century. Material needs no longer exist.
      cap-think Then what's the challenge?
picard-pointing The challenge, Mr. Offenhouse, is to improve yourself. To enrich yourself. Enjoy it.

I know i'm asking hypotheticals here because we will never go to Mars unless China does it, but i still have to ask if backup humanities linked to Elon Musk are exempt from the "no anti-nautilism" clause in the CoC.

it is kinda weird that the coc specifically calls out the worship of shelled cephalopods.

If we've learned anything from modern civilization on earth, it's that humans from the west are very good at living in harmony with a fragile ecosystem, so this mars thing will definitely work

tbh all the toxic heavy metals in the soil all over the planet make it a non-starter to begin with

Didn't my-hero promise that he will go to Mars in 2020? Didn't happen.

If they were serious about humans living on Mars long-term, they'd be doing preparations for it. Do a proof of concept here on Earth, there are plenty of inhabitable places here. Any of them are easy mode compared to Mars. As long as I don't see a proof of concept, I'll assume it's empty words. (Which is honestly the better, considering the work conditions at the guy's companies, we don't want humans to be permanently stuck with him on another planet...)

I'd look forward to the Event Horizon Blood Orgy footage of him being mauled to death by his space slaves after the colony revolts because he tried rationing water for the third time in a month

When your net worth goes over that $1B threshold you just automatically lose any shred of goodness you can possess as a human?

You've long shed it before you even get close. Improvements to quality of life and access to quality consumer amusements hit diminishing returns in the tens of millions if not earlier. Beyond that, the purpose of personal accumulation is conquest and being above the law
