You can also tell how good it is by looking at the percentage of the state legislature required to override it (7/8th's)

I get texts from people claiming to be uber/lyft drivers everyday telling me me to vote yes or it will destroy their livelihoods. Like holy shit, this is the biggest astroturf campaign I've seen in a while. Worried it'll probably pass because most people won't look into it.

Luckily my parents voted no because my dad always votes no on every single proposition thinking voting no is always the less taxes option.

Iirc there's a prop on the ballot to overturn Prop 13 (the infamous no increase on property taxes while you own your home) so voting no across the board is a winning strategy if that's your goal

Of course, pay no mind to the fact that people who own property vote in disproportionately large numbers.

I keep seeing ads for it online and I’m just terrified it’ll pass because people are being inundated with YES ON 22 horse shit

There is a big portion of non-gig workers that do independent contracting that are going to be voting no because of the precedent it sets. But man, if you live anywhere near a city in CA, you've probably gotten like 5-6 mailers, a few texts and maybe even emails if you've donated to any campaigns recently. They bombarded me with shit. I'm assuming boomers are gonna vote yes cause they are the exact demographic those things sway opinion.

And if you services like Uber, they even tell customers about voting yes on prop22. And drivers have to either click, "yes I support 22" one time when they get a customer, and the app tells customers from then on they support 22, but if they DON'T do that, they have to click "ok" every single time they get a new customer to clear the message. So some people are just clicking yes to get rid of the annoying pop up it gives them in order to accept a ride lol

Supporters, or possibly even some of the actual tech company people doxxed the shit out of anti-prop 22 activist. They also harassed and basically stalked them https://www.cnet.com/features/uber-lyfts-fight-over-gig-worker-status-as-campaign-against-labor-activists-mounts/

oh yeah if you go onto a few of the major facebook gig worker groups and say you wont vote for 22, it's very likely getting removed. Doordash and Uber (probably others) run a few of the groups or people are being paid by them to do that lol.
