I'm frankly baffled by the sharp uptick in the amount of overt racism I've been seeing on twitter these days. These fuckers don't even bother to pretend that they're not outright nazis.

What kills me is they dress it up in "discourse" like DAE black people are the real racists??? Instead of just being honest about being a bigot, HATE the faux-intellectualism it tries to front.

What is baffling about an out and out fascist purchasing Twitter and then letting that shit run rampant

Nothing, really, but still... it's kinda shocking to see the complete 4chanization of a space that's less anonymous.

"The Years of Rice and Salt" by KSR is more or less "what if Europe never existed", and it's pretty dope, tbqh.

An entire continent never having existed is a ridiculous thing to wish had been the case. The racism.angle has been well covered but like...Africa not ever having existed would mean pangea would have been different as hell and life would have evolved super different many millions of years back. This guy is triadic period or earlier racist.

I live in Australia and can honestly tell you that if Europe never existed, Australia would actually be extremely cool.

Its genuinely a heartbreaking tragedy what happened to the indigenous people of Australia/Uthuru. It seems so much of their culture has been completely annihilated in an industrial way, its akin to indigenous Americans but from an outsider's perspective it seems what the brits did has been much more thorough as a result of how recent and sudden it was.

The people that tresspass on their lands and graffiti on their monuments and religious heritage should be executed straight up, its disgusting how these colonizers try to take the small things they still have left and see it as a joke.

Their cultures were so isolated and rich for so long, we have lost something truly important to human history, everyone is scrambling to document what is still left and so much is unknown. I was reading about the linguistic history of Australia/Uthuru lately and there's so many blanks that we don't know about due to linguistic erasure and the actual physical silencing and killing of people that maintained their oral histories.

The "developed" countries would be losing their modern colonies lol. Capitalism would have some trouble without Africa

It feels dicey in some way to boil an entire continent down to what resources are extracted from it as a form of liberation propaganda.

it was also the source of all humans ever existing, made iron/steel before europe, and has a shitton of other "non standard" history which is at the same time undeniably true (the shape of the sphinx, Mansa Musa's dad, etc)

oh and any kind of honkey music that arose in the last 200 years

With the same hatred they would visit on others. There is no need to sympathize with people who have no sympathy.
