I unsubbed from r/politics finally. I was finally broken. The top comment of a Buttegeig story said "Butti Butti Butti Butti rockin everywhere!" I tried fighting the good fight over there but I'm just not strong enough.

they combine smug liberalism with reddit’s midwit crowd in a stunning way. for fuck’s sake, imagine typing out “in what ways do you think your own personal growth contributes to your ability to act as that ineffable cypher of leadership”

100%. The smug liberalism is off the charts on there. When I read the posts on there, I have to close the tab cause it makes me want to explode in rage at these mother fuckers. Any thread on there about a southern state (especially when Kentucky is brought up over McGrath) it's just a bunch of stereotypes and coded language about how much they hate poor people.

Don't anyone on this fucking site try to tell me that we should waste our time with libs and trying to radicalize them. I would MUCH rather talk to conspiracy theorists and disgruntled apolitical people than ever waste my time talking to those smug mother fuckers who hate the poor. Practically everyone I have ever had any success introducing Marxism to, were often times conspiracy theorists who came so close to getting it that our system was fucked up and looking for answers. Libs already have their own answers. They will always, always, always side with the state, defend the status quo and believe in the system.

I've been calling them out on that shit a lot lately and piled on. They hate the dum dum poor's and don't even try to hide it. They're happy to write off an entire state of people because of one politician.

there is nothing, i repeat NOTHING of redeeming value in that sub.

idk, without that subs' constant "evidence of THIS comes to light" and "bombshell report shows THAT" headlines followed up by absolutely nothing ever happening to those people I might still have that little shred of hope that the system works that I had been saving up until then.

Honestly... that sub was instrumental to my abandonment of whatever lib tendencies I had left and any faith in the Democrats to do anything for the people.

I was a religious reader of that sub in 2016. Scandal after scandal with nothing happening and I just completely stopped giving a shit.

I have a hard time believing many of them are real people. During 2016, it was so obvious the correct the record crowd was infiltrating the place. I don't know who's propaganda is being pushed there now, but they don't seem like real people. It reminds me of that experiment where they had two AI computers talk to each other.

I’ve been thinking about doing a big effort post on that when I get some free time. I remember there being this piece of metal that fell out of her pants or something right before she fainted.

There was something very bizarre about that whole event

Yes! I was immediately perma banned in 2016 for calling out this behavior.

Get paid to shit post...then report people calling you out. The mods and admins side with you.

The conversation in that place turned uncanny valley immediately

It was and still is the most infuriating sub there. I unsubbed and banned back in 2017 and it was such a massive improvement to my mental health. I lost my marbles on some lib over some Russiagate bullshit
