Why are tumblr queer types so insanely bad at dealing with chuds online? It's like they are incapable of saying mean words, they always react exactly how trolls want them to.

The stupid drama with the CoQ discord and sseth (stupid shit not worth explaining) has me thinking about this again for the first time in a few years, it seems these people haven't changed at all.

takes a little ideology to realize that these people are always coming in bad faith and just having the discussion on their terms grants them a ridiculous amount of legitimacy and gift-wraps the discussion in exactly the way they want. I still hope "post hog" takes off outside this community as it's a damn good way to shut those discussions down and insult them without relying on slurs or denigrating people who have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

people have to want to bully chuds to really drive them away. But the civility brainworms are so prevalent here that people want to "give each other a chance" or "try to change their minds" which isn't an effective way to deal with bullies. Basically I blame the school system for indoctrinating kids to believe that fighting back against a bully makes you just as bad as the bully themself.

Caves of Qud is a pretty good roguelike game. The dev is this crazy idpol obsessed weirdo who seems like they got their entire worldview from tumblr blogs. For an example of how insane they are, one of the rules for the official Discord is you aren't allowed to make any jokes about the faction in the game that is an allegory for Nazis. Because joking about something obviously means you like the thing. You also aren't allowed to ask that this faction have their lore fleshed out more because obviously only Nazis would want that. You have to set your pronouns through a bot that sets a flair for you, you can't just set it yourself or not set any. You have to agree to poorly written fake terms and conditions before being allowed to even view the server.

Sseth is a youtuber who does game reviews. He only reviews games that are obscure but high quality, so whenever he reviews a game it's popularity explodes. He likes to troll people and his videos are nonstop edgy jokes about warcrimes and anime. His fanbase is moderately cancerous because they don't purge chuds, they just ignore them and let them hang out. Whenever his fanbase finds a game from his reviews, they let it be known that is how they found the game by using "hey hey, people" as their introduction to forums, multiplayer servers, etc.

Whenever his fanbase started swarming the discord for the game, the dev and moderators flipped shit because introducing yourself with the phrase "hey hey, people" is an attack on the community and low effort trolling, and posting screenshots of a moderator banning you for doing so is doxing, and telling a large audience to buy your game is a harassment campaign.

Basically they are reacting to a minor incident in the most extreme way possible, and in response a ton of people are now actually harassing the community because they let it be publicly known they are extremely easy to mess with and have no idea how to respond to trolling.

Literally the only way to get chuds to fuck off is to find relevant slurs that aren't bad for you to say and then call them that.

One of my other gay friends started going down the rabbit hole and I just started calling him a removed until he stopped.

Compassion and sincerity are for those capable of feeling empathy, the tumlbr types have never learned this lesson, which is why chuds run circles around them
